Weller Book Works Collectors' Book Salons feature libations and treats, social time for conversation and a special deal on rare books that is only available to guests. Books are bridges across the divides of time and space and they embrace the diversity of the human experience, we try to keep our treats, speakers and deals diverse, which is maybe another word for unpredictable. We encourage guests to dress up, or down, or weird, or playfully, to help our sensibilities out of predictable zones.

Glasses filled at 6:30 and we muster for the Collectors’ Chat at 7:15 in our Rare Book Room. The event has no digital component.
Our Collectors' Chat this month will be offered by bookseller and conservator Frank Pester and historian and librarian Richard E. Turley. They will discuss John Wesley Powell's life and work and show examples of his books.
Weller Book Works bookseller and buyer Frank Pester will carry the Collector’s Chat with a presentation about John Wesley Powell and the care of books. Frank has worked most of his life in books. He has worked in Weller Book Works since 1997 and splits his time presently between us and the University of Utah’s Conservation Department.
Richard E. Turley is a historian and librarian for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rick is researching and preparing three volumes on John Wesley Powell's river trips 1869-1872.
