Outdoors for All - A message from the Executive Director

Autumn has arrived at Camp Kawartha. The maples are turning shades of scarlet, orange and yellow. Days are getting cooler and this morning was shrouded in mist. For children, this is a wonderful season to be outside: crunching through fallen leaves, discovering seeds and fungi, watching migrating birds and experiencing first-hand how the natural world prepares for winter.

A visit to Camp Kawartha offers much more than a memorable day outdoors. Children have the chance to explore, move, build confidence and deepen their relationship with the natural world. They see sustainable living in action and take part in age-appropriate stewardship, discovering that their actions can make a positive difference.

Through Outdoors for All, we help remove financial barriers so that more school classes can experience outdoor learning and more children can enjoy the adventure, connection and growth that come with summer camp. We are deeply grateful to families such as David and Patricia Morton, whose generous support is opening these opportunities to children who might otherwise miss out.

If Outdoors for All speaks to you, we invite you to help us make sure that every child has the opportunity to get outside, experience the wonder of nature and begin their own journey toward Earth stewardship.
