Coffee and Conversations

This effort is run by lay leaders and is a time of discussion and reflection about the day's scripture.

During fall, winter and spring, we meet at 9:10 on non-Communion Sundays, and finish by 9:55.

Please join us as you are able!

Welcome!

On Sunday, May 24, 2026,

First Church, Swampscott welcomed our Bridge Minister,

Rev. Teri Motley, for the summer months.

Rev. Teri holds academic degrees from Harvard University and Andover Newton Theological Seminary.

Having been ordained in 2009, Rev. Teri has ministered to congregations as a settled pastor, an intentional interim pastor, as sabbatical coverage, and pulpit supply.

Rev. Teri and her husband, Herb, reside in Peabody.

Welcome Rev. Teri!

We are so glad to have you with us this summer!

Remembering Joan Sawyer

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Sawyer family held a Celebration of Life for their matriarch, Joan Marie Bartram Sawyer.

Members of Joan's family gave heartfelt, and at times, very funny memories of Joan and all that she meant to her family.

Joan had a huge impact on those around her: in her local community

and throughout the world!

She was a wonderful storyteller and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is greatly missed.
