The moment NDCR came back to life. Watch our students arrive for the first day.

We are looking forward to a NEW YEAR. Pictured above is our Academic Leadership welcoming students back on the first day: Principal Mabel Dominguez ’09, (center) Vice Principal Ashley Robbat (right), and Dean of Students Bailey Magazzu (left) welcomed our students back on the first day of school! We are READY TO RISE!

A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT:

From NDCR's Early Years in Lawrence to Today

Welcome Back Dr. McIntyre!

The return of Dr. Kevin McIntyre as Vice President of Administration is more than a homecoming — it brings together different generations and chapters of Notre Dame Cristo Rey’s story.

Dr. McIntyre served as Associate Principal during NDCR’s first three years, helping establish the culture, systems, and relationships of a new school community in Lawrence. Nearly two decades later, he returns to NDCR on its campus at the historic Searles Estate in Methuen — where some of the students from those early years are now his colleagues.

Among them are Principal Mabel Domínguez ’09; Marlipsen Ventura ’08, a member of NDCR’s first graduating class who now works in the Corporate Work Study Program; and Dory Schofield ’09, Director of Alumni. Yazmin Lara ’18, Admissions Coordinator, represents another generation of alumni who have returned to serve the school and its families.

Also sharing in this full-circle moment is President Emerita Sister Mary Murphy, who served as President when these alumni were students and remains an active part of the NDCR community through her work in the Advancement Office.

The setting may have changed, but the connections have endured.

Together then and together again, they now have the opportunity to help a new generation of NDCR students write their own stories. It is a full-circle reminder of what our community has always known: Together, We Rise.

Did you spot another piece of NDCR history in the photo above?

Painted by Shelby Morales ’21 and presented to Sister Maryalyce Gilfeather during NDCR’s 20th anniversary celebration with alumni, this artwork represents the connection between NDCR’s roots in Lawrence and our home today in Methuen. The bridge symbolizes that journey, while the stones mark the graduating classes beginning with 2008. Each year, a new class is added, allowing the painting and the NDCR story to continue growing together.

CORPORATE WORK STUDY

Young Professional Training:

The Class of 2030 is READY TO WORK!

Before NDCR students step into their Corporate Work Study placements, they learn how to step into the professional world with confidence.

Through the NDCR Young Professional Training Institute, incoming freshmen participate in two weeks of intensive training led by CWSP staff, corporate partners, volunteers, and NDCR Student Ambassadors. Students build practical skills in professional communication, business etiquette, workplace expectations, first impressions, problem-solving, networking, and entry-level office skills.

Training moves beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to practice what they learn through hands-on activities and mock interviews with professionals from a variety of fields.

Throughout the two weeks, Student Ambassadors play an important leadership role, serving as mentors and role models while helping incoming students navigate their schedules, reflect on what they are learning, and understand the expectations of an NDCR student in the workplace.

By the time training concludes, our newest students have already begun developing something they will continue building throughout their four years at NDCR: the confidence, skills, and professionalism to walk into a workplace ready to learn, contribute, and grow.

Please join us in thanking these wonderful members of the NDCR community who volunteered their time and talent to teach our young professionals:

DUAL ENROLLMENT

Why wait until graduation to start college?

NDCR students are already getting a head start through our Dual Enrollment partnership with Northern Essex Community College. While still in high school, our young scholars are stepping into college-level English courses, earning college credit, and discovering that they are ready for what comes next.

They’re not just preparing for college. They’re already proving they belong there.

Blessing the Journey Ahead

Campus Ministry and Corporate Work Study come together to bless our vans, drivers, and students for safe travels throughout the school year. God Bless the NDCR Community!

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY:

Cleaning up the Spicket River!

The school year is already underway, and NDCR students are putting our mission into action through service. Working alongside Groundwork Lawrence, students recently helped clean up the Spicket River, giving their time and energy to care for a community that has long been part of the NDCR story.

It’s a meaningful reminder that leadership isn’t only about where our students are going. It’s also about how they serve along the way. Special thanks to our Dean of Students and Campus Minister for joining our students in service and helping lead by example as we give back to our community.

TEAM BUILDING: The Class of 2030
TOGETHER, We Literally Rise!

NDCR students took Together, We Rise to new heights during a team-building ropes course at Gordon College.

Through challenges that required trust, communication, and plenty of courage, students learned that sometimes the best way to rise is to do it together.

This time, quite literally!
