One of the great things about life is that there’s always room for improvement—and each day offers a new opportunity to be better than the day before. That’s the spirit behind this week’s newsletter.

We’ve heard some feedback about the weekly format and want to make sure it’s truly serving the needs of our members. Specifically, we’re looking at how we share details about our luncheons, charity events, and social gatherings.

This week’s newsletter includes both full event details and summary formats so you can compare them. It may feel a bit longer or duplicative—but that’s intentional! We’re testing layout options and want your input to help us deliver the information you care about most.

These inspiring women will share powerful stories of service, sisterhood, and strength, offering a heartfelt glimpse into their journeys and the bonds that unite them.

Spread Holiday Cheer with Toys for Kids!

Let’s help brighten the season for children in need! We’re proud to support Toys for Kids, a heartfelt initiative by the San Carlos Fire Department, which collects and distributes new toys to local kids who might otherwise go without a holiday gift.

Your generosity can make a big difference — thank you for helping us share the joy!

We’re so excited for an afternoon of fun, friendship, and fabulous flavors at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on Thursday, October 16 from 3:30–6:00 PM!

This special gathering is for members who previously signed up, and we can’t wait to see everyone there!

We’ll be gathering in a private room reserved exclusively for Hearts of Miromar members—the perfect setting for mingling, laughter, and making new connections.

Guests will enjoy Ruth’s classic happy hour menu, with the option to order from the full dinner menu as well. Each guest will be responsible for their own food and beverages (cash payment preferred, if possible).

Polish your glass and pick your garnish — it’s time for our Hearts Martini Mingle!

Join us Monday, October 20, from 5:00–7:00 PM, for a fabulous evening at Blue Water Grill as we kick off another season of friendship, laughter, and Hearts-style fun.

We’ve reserved poolside tables just for our members, so come sip, sparkle, and catch up with your favorite Hearts friends.

Flying solo or new to the group? No problem! 💕 Look for the ladies wearing Hearts of Miromar name badges — they’ll make sure you’re right in the mix.

And don’t let the name fool you — it’s not just about martinis! 🍷🍹 Whether you prefer wine, cocktails, mocktails, or a bubbly soda, every glass will be filled with good cheer and great company.

The first week would look like “Our Hearts Happenings”; other weeks would follow the “Snapshot of the Hearts” format.

Welcome back, Seasonal Players — we’ve missed you! 💕 Both Bridge and Canasta will now meet in the Golf Club Card Room until the Beach Clubhouse Card Room reopens. Dates and times remain the same — just a new location to keep the games going.

Needle Talk is Back — with a New Stitching Spot!

Our beloved Needle Talk group returns on Tuesday, October 14 at 1:30 PM, now meeting at the Bellavista Clubhouse until the Beach Clubhouse opens.

Bring your projects, your creativity, and your love of good conversation! Whether you knit, crochet, stitch, or simply enjoy the company, you’re warmly invited to join in the fun.

October Book Club Update

Join us Monday, October 27 at 5:30 PM for a discussion of Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, led by Denise Weiner. This timeless reflection on solitude, love, and life's rhythms is perfect for note-taking and revisiting.

Until further notice, Mah Jongg will meet in the Vivaldi Clubhouse. The day and time remain the same: Wednesdays, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Play is for fun, friendship, and laughter—not for money.
