Message from Mayor Kapszukiewicz
I was excited this week to kickoff off Toledo’s 2021 residential road repaving program on Beechway Boulevard, which is among 109 residential streets on this year’s construction list. That is compared to the seven streets fixed in 2020.

As I said Wednesday, you will start to see your tax dollars at work all throughout Toledo as reconstructing and resurfacing begins this Spring on residential streets.

For the first time in the history of our city, we have a dedicated funding stream that can only be used for road repair. We’ve resurfaced roads in the past, of course, but we’ve had to choose from among other capital needs to do so. We didn’t have a dedicated stream that could only be spent on fixing roads.

The work on residential streets is long overdue, and it is only possible because of the voter-approval last year of the quarter-percent income tax exclusively for streets.

You can find more information on the residential road program, along with the work being done on major roadways, at toledo.oh.gov/roads.

My family and I send our best wishes to everyone celebrating Passover and we also wish a very Happy Easter to everyone celebrating Sunday.
