CVYO
Weekly Update and
Musician's Resources
Hi CVYO Families!
We miss you all!
This week, our Associate Conductor, Mr. Tseitlin is sending you the following messages and resources:
Youth Strings

Hello Youth Strings! Play along with us in our quartet version of the Syncopated Clock! No repeats, take the 2nd endings. Take a moment to listen through, then join us while you practice. Hope to see you all soon!

Preparatory and Youth Orchestras

Hello Prep and Youth Orchestras! This week we're sharing a video from Mr. Tseitlin's Twitch stream where he demonstrated a little bit of his editing process for the Virtuosi video that we released last week (Virtuosi video is below), as well as a little bit of score analysis for the Dvorak and Bernstein.

Editing classical works is a fascinating process in Adobe Premiere (one of the industry standard pieces of software for video editing). Mr. Tseitlin shares the techniques of synchronizing the last two chords in the symphony, and the technique of multi-cam cuts for the introduction. If you're interested in music and film technology, you'll love it!

Listen and watch along in the score for the Youth Orchestra's West Side Story movement "Somewhere" starting at 21:00, and Prep Orchestra's Dvorak "American Suite" finale at 36:00.

For those who missed it:
From our living rooms to yours
CVYO brings you the first movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony performed by CVYO Virtuosi from their homes.

Under the guidance of Associate Conductor, Alexander Tseitlin, our musicians have been working on this special project since
social distancing began.

We are hoping it will bring a little cheer to everyone while we wait to see each other again!

Bravo to CVYO Virtuosi and to Mr. Tseitlin!

Please share the joy with as many friends and family through social media and e-mail as you can. The video is up on our Instagram page @cvyo, and our Facebook page.
All CVYO Musicians!

Rehearsals are suspended until further notice and we miss every one of you! Please look for an email from our Directors weekly.

Stay safe and enjoy the time with your family and with your instruments!
