The ARISE Initiative will use trauma-informed strategies such as case management, wraparound services, skill-building workshops, coaching, and peer mentoring. Tailored employment, training, and entrepreneurial opportunities will be offered for this overlooked segment that continues to be underserved by existing employment and training systems. It is ARISE’s mission to help to remove barriers to access and provide support to individuals in recovery and/or with a history of incarceration, so they can succeed at becoming contributing members of the workforce and continue upon a pathway of self-sufficiency. ARISE will also offer workshops and trainings to employers to encourage them to provide recovery-friendly workplaces.
The ARISE Initiative is being overseen by the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region, in collaboration with the Gardner Athol Area Mental Health Association (GAAMHA), Greenfield Community College (GCC), and the MassHire Franklin Workforce Board. We anticipate other partners to be added as the effort rolls out later this year with exciting events and trainings.
We know through presentations given to Opioid Task Force members by Dr. John Kelly, Founder, and Director of the Recovery Research Institute, that meaningful employment and training options are part of the essential recovery capital individuals need to sustain their recovery journey.
For more information about the ARISE Initiative, please contact Kristen Pease, OTF's Program Associate and ARISE Project Manager phone at 413-834-2664 or by email here, kristen@opiodtaskforce.org. Check out the flyer here.
We are pleased to link arms with so many to provide hope and help to those impacted by addiction through employment and training opportunities.
Sincerely,
