A Message from Rev. Vicki

In the Spirit

I love Fran’s column today about the veil between the worlds being thinnest this time of year. In the agricultural societies that instituted many of the ancestor-venerating rituals that are still observed at this time of year, preparing to survive the winter was serious business. I am ever mindful of our precarious New England winters and every year I try to purchase something that will help me weather a power outage in very cold temps...MORE

A Message from Francesca

Thresholds are Portals to New Spaces

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of crafting a blessing along with one of the kids. In this instance, a Blessing was defined as giving good energy, well wishes, and articulating our hopes. In this case, the room that will become the Neighboring Faiths classroom and Youth Space was the beneficiary of the crafted blessing.

One of the many excellent insights our student gave was that she recommended that we place not only this blessing on the door, but with the intention that others would place their own blessings on the same door. Her great idea got me thinking about thresholds...MORE

Congregational Meeting

There will be a special Congregational Meeting immediately following the service on November 8th. The purpose will be to vote on changes to the bylaws proposed by the Board of Trustees. Childcare will be provided.

New Ministry Team

Are you passionate about environmental stewardship, community building, and caring for our shared home? Our Green Sanctuary Ministry Team was very strong and active for a good run. They have not been active for a number of years, and Rev. Vicki has proposed a new team called the Earth Care Ministry Team, which will be open to all members and active friends of the congregation.

There will be many ways to get involved. If you're interested in helping shape this renewed ministry, click here to learn more and sign up!

UUCGL In the News

UUCGL continues to make news following our milestone of awarding more than $1 million in grants, scholarships and nonprofit support across Lynn, Swampscott, and the North Shore. Our story was just featured in Swampscott Tides. Read it HERE!

Lydia Breed Exhibit

Artists: as our wonderful Lydia Breed exhibit comes to a close, please note that art pick-up hours have been changed to 12:30-2pm this Sunday, November 1st.

A Message from ECCO

Sign up here to commit to showing up for democracy with ECCO’s statewide coalition, of which our community is a member, and to stay updated as events unfold.

Facebook Engagement

Are you on Facebook? You can help grow our church’s reach — and it only takes a second!

Whenever you see a post from UUCGL — whether it’s on our official page or shared in a local community group — simply click “Like,” leave a comment, or share it. Even a quick reaction (👍❤️) makes a real difference.

On Facebook, posts with more engagement are shown to more people. That means every time you interact with a church post, you help the algorithm recognize it as meaningful content. The result: our programs, events, and messages become visible to more neighbors across Lynn, Swampscott, and the North Shore.

A few seconds of engagement from you can help amplify our mission, strengthen our presence in the community, and bring more people into connection with the work we’re doing together. Thank you!
