Mail voting is safe, secure, and easy

Información importante sobre la votación en las elecciones del 5 de noviembre

La votación por correo es segura y sencilla

Voting is at the heart of our democracy and an important election is coming up. There will be important issues and races in Federal, State and Local government on the ballot.

Contra Costa’s Election Office is mailing a ballot to every registered voter on October 7. Voted ballots must be postmarked by Elections Day (and received by the Elections Office by November 12) or returned to a drop box by 8 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5.

Voting by mail is safe, secure, and preferred by most voters. It’s a highly regulated process, with many checkpoints, people, and systems working together to keep our elections secure. For example, returned ballots are handled with strict chain-of-custody procedures, and a voter’s signature on the ballot return envelope is checked up to 3 separate times.

Learn more about voting by mail at secure-election.org/facts-votingand check your voter registration status or register to vote at contracostavote.gov.

Voters can also use My Voting Information tool on the Contra Costa County Elections Division website to confirm when their ballot has been issued or received. If you are registered to vote and did not receive your ballot, or it’s lost or damaged, request a replacement vote-by-mail ballot at contracostavote.gov by October 29.

Regional early voting will occur on Friday, November 1, 11am to 6pm, Saturday, November 2, 9am – 3pm, and Monday, November 4, 11am – 6pm. The West County location will be at the Richmond Public Library, 325 Civic Center Plaza.
