CTE Student, Teacher
and Graduate Spotlights
Your students, graduates and staff deserve recognition, and we want to help!
We need you to identify those going above and beyond in the classroom, have them complete a questionnaire and then submit the information and a few high-quality pictures for spotlights in the upcoming edition of Connections.
We also want to document the post-high school journey of your graduates, so reach out to those who found careers in CTE-related jobs or continued their education in related fields.
Current students should provide their designations (junior, senior, etc.), primary schools (Oxford High School, for example) and current CTE classes or pathways, and answer the following questions with at least two or three complete sentences:
- What is your favorite CTE class?
- Who is your favorite teacher or school district employee?
- What is your proudest accomplishment as a student?
- What clubs, organizations, activities or sports do you enjoy participating in the most?
- Have you received any CTE-related awards, recognition, certifications or on-the-job experience?
- What jobs or careers interest you the most?
Teachers and other school staff should provide their title, primary school and classes taught/primary job function, and answer the following questions with at least two or three complete sentences:
- Why did you become an educator or support staff member?
- What is your greatest success as a teacher or support staff member?
- How do you motivate students?
- How does CTE help students' overall education and prepare them for life after high school?
- What advice would you give first-year educators?
Graduates should provide their graduation year and school (Columbus High School, Class of 2020, for example), list their CTE-related jobs (company and position) or their selected major at their current institution of higher learning and answer the following questions with at least two or three sentences:
- What CTE program did you complete and which CTE classes did you take in high school?
- What national certificates or specialized training did you acquire or complete before you graduated?
- How did your high school CTE program or CTE classes prepare you for your job or for higher learning?
- What advice would you give incoming students who are contemplating enrolling in CTE classes?
Once you've gathered answers and photos, submit them via Help Desk, reply to this email or email me directly. Be sure to note "CTE Student/Teacher Spotlight" in the subject line.
Please share this email with your fellow CTE staff, and let's give everyone a deserved moment in the spotlight! We can't wait to tell their stories!
