Dear Rich Township Family,

October is here, and there is plenty happening throughout Rich Township as we continue bringing our residents together through programs, resources, and community events. Before looking ahead to what’s coming up, I want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous success of our recent Rich Township Senior Resource & Health Fair.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and the Richton Park Community Center filled with residents connecting with organizations, learning about available services, and taking advantage of the many health, wellness, and community resources brought together in one place. The energy and engagement throughout the day showed just how important it is to continue creating opportunities that connect our residents directly with information and resources that can support them and their families.

I want to extend a special thank you to our Senior Services Director, Mayme Buckley, and the entire Senior Services team for the time, planning, and hard work that went into making the fair such a success. I would also like to thank Village of Richton Park President Rick Reinbold and the Village of Richton Park for welcoming us to the Richton Park Community Center and providing a wonderful space to host this year’s fair. Thank you as well to every organization, vendor, community partner, and staff member who participated and helped make the day possible. Most importantly, thank you to our residents for coming out, asking questions, discovering new resources, and spending the day with us. Your participation is what truly made the event a success.

October also brings some fun for our families. Rich Township is excited to once again partner with the Olympia Fields Park District for our upcoming Halloween Fun House. We invite families to bring the kids out and enjoy a safe and fun Halloween celebration with the community. Be sure to check out the flyer included in this newsletter for additional event details. We look forward to seeing you there!

While we enjoy these opportunities to come together, I also want our residents to know that Rich Township is here when you need us. We continue to see an increase in the number of individuals and families turning to our Food Pantry for assistance, and we understand that many households are facing challenges as the cost of everyday necessities continues to impact family budgets. Our goal is to help as much as we can and make sure residents know they have somewhere to turn when they need additional support.

Beyond our Food Pantry, Rich Township continues to provide services and resources through Senior Services, Transportation, our Mental Health and Wellness programs, and other departments and initiatives designed to serve residents throughout our community. Whether you need assistance yourself or know a family member, friend, or neighbor who may benefit, I encourage you to stay connected with us and learn more about the resources available.

On behalf of the Rich Township Board of Trustees, Constitutional Officers, and our dedicated staff, thank you for continuing to participate in our programs, attend our events, and trust us to serve you. We remain committed to meeting the needs of our residents and building a stronger, more connected community together.
