Celebrating the First Week Back!

Dear AL Community,

What a joy it has been to welcome students back into our buildings this week! The halls are once again filled with energy, laughter, and learning, and we are excited to begin building the foundation for a successful school year together.

During this first week, teachers and staff have been focused on establishing strong classroom routines, reviewing expectations, and helping students feel connected and supported. These foundational steps set the tone for a positive and productive year.

We are also continuing to grow our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, which reinforces positive choices and creates a safe and welcoming school climate. With your support at home, our students are already off to a strong start.

We also want to remind you of our new cell phone and smartwatch policy, which follows recent Missouri legislation. Students are expected to keep personal devices powered off and stored away during the school day, except in very limited circumstances. We ask for your partnership in making sure students understand and follow these guidelines so that we can maintain a focused and safe environment for learning.

In addition, we want to highlight a few exciting updates completed over the summer:

  • New turfs at our elementary campuses
  • New roofs at Oak & Cherry
  • Two new nine-passenger vans for student transportation

Finally, we extend heartfelt thanks to all of the host families who welcomed interns and new teachers into their homes. Your generosity makes a tremendous difference in helping us grow a powerful, supportive community.

With such a strong start, we are confident that this school year will be full of fun, growth, learning, and community. Thank you for your continued support and partnership—we cannot wait to see all that our students will accomplish in 2025–26!

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Student Success Nights: ALIHS on Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 pm, Armour Middle School on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:00 pm, and Cherry & Oak Campuses on Thursday, September 4 at 6:00 pm.

Have a great weekend.
