All School Mass | Vocations Day

We look forward to gathering together as a community for All School Mass on Friday, October 16th, Vocations Day! Students are reminded to wear their full-dress uniforms. We warmly invite all StJPII families to join us for Mass as we come together in faith to celebrate this special day dedicated to vocations. We would love to have you here!

This year, we are blessed to welcome 25 religious from across the city of Houston! Our visitors include priests, deacons, sisters, consecrated women, and missionaries, all coming to share their vocation journeys with our students. Each grade level will have the opportunity to hear from a special panel, where our guests will share their stories and answer students’ questions about their lives and callings.

We encourage you to take a moment this Friday to talk with your children about their experience and the speakers they met. Please join us in praying that our students remain open to God’s call in their lives, we need more priests and religious in our world! God bless!

Season of Remembrance

As we enter this special season, we invite our StJPII community to participate in two beautiful traditions of the Church.

October: The Saints

During October, we remember the saints, our heavenly friends and intercessors, and ask them to pray for us and help us grow closer to Christ.

  • Please submit your student’s patron saint using the Saint Litany Submission Form.
  • We will create a Litany of Saints for each classroom to use in prayer.
  • A special Mass will be celebrated for our school community asking these saints to intercede for our students, families, and school.

November: The Faithful Departed

November is a special time to remember and pray for our loved ones who have died.

Thank you to our Moms Club for helping our school community participate in these meaningful traditions of prayer and remembrance.

Save The Date!

Join us at the Moms & Dads Overnight Retreat. Step away from the business of everyday life, refocus your heart on Christ, and renew your strength as a spiritual leader for your family.

Thank You To Our Bazaar Volunteers!

A heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers at our StJPII booth during the SJV Bazaar this past weekend. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm truly made a difference!

A very special shout-out to Thomas Payne for stepping up as the leader. Attending every meeting, giving his entire Sunday, making sure the booth ran flawlessly. Your dedication and creativity helped turn this into a truly meaningful day of service.

We are so proud of all our volunteers and deeply grateful for the generosity, spirit, and joy each of you brought. Thank you again for making this day so special!

Attention Parents!

The St.JPII Literati Book Fair is almost here! Mark your calendars for Oct. 19-26th when your children will be going on a book hunt!

Don’t just wing it, prepare for the fair with a digital gift card - a safe, easy way for students to pay for their goodies.

Gift cards can be purchased online using our school link.

Once purchased, the gift card code will be delivered via email. Please check your inbox, spam, or junk folders if you are unable to locate their gift card code. To redeem, your child will bring their code to the bookfair and the cashier will enter the code. If for some reason you or your child can’t make it to the bookfair, spend the gift card online by 10/26 so St.JPII will get credit for your purchases. Students can choose a free mini-poster when they spend their card at the school fair (while supplies last).

Be on the lookout for your child to bring home a flyer showing some of the titles that will be at the bookfair. Can’t wait for the flyer? Go online now using our school link to get a sneak peek!

Elementary Athletics

Picture Day is Friday, October 16 from 4pm to 6pm in St Jude Hall.

Each team's assigned time that has been communicated to their coach. To make the process run smoothly, please follow the assigned schedule.

Middle School Athletics

Our sports teams were off last week. 8th grade student athletes enjoyed a fun and educational trip to Washington, D.C. The 6th and 7th graders utilized the week to train with their coaches while having a bit of fun. Football competed against soccer in a contest of penalty kicks and field goals. Depending on who you ask, each team says they won. Volleyball ended practice each day with an inner squad scrimmage. It was a fun week while keeping our competitive edge.

A special congratulations to JV volleyball for winning 1st place in the St. Thomas More Tournament! They played six games in 14 hours and showed incredible perseverance along the way. Way to go, JV!

Soccer is at the mid-season turn with a record of 5-1. We will now face each team in our division one more time and look forward to strong march to the playoffs.

Football faces a must win situation this week in our game against Epiphany. Victory ensures we get to host a playoff game here at school.

Cross Country competed in the 9th Annual Katy Express Meet.  All runners ran their best time of the season! Below are the athletes who placed top 50 in their race.

Jackson Olenius: 12th of 116

JJ Lim: 45th of 116

Camila Esteva: 22nd of 73

Chisimdi Elekwachi: 31st of 73

Emily Walsh: 34th of 73

Great job to all the Saints!!
