The Message this Week

Preaching Text:  John 2:1-11

A sign of abundance! Jesus turns 180 gallons of water into wine at a wedding according to the 2nd chapter of John. We generally view this as a positive, but it also is a little bit over the top, isn't it? This weekend, we will ponder together what to do with the abundance of Jesus' gifts for us.

Good and gracious God, here we are one week into a new year. Help us to see all you've provided for us and to live out of abundance. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

I feel like I never have enough. What am I missing when it comes to talking about Jesus' abundance?

• Help us to honor and respect our relationship with you, the world, and all created life.
• Open the eyes of leaders at every level to see your face in the faces of those they serve. Help us to support them in their work.
• Lead us back to you when we wander, when we doubt, and when we crave the wholeness that you impart. Bring your blessing of healing to all in need.
• Draw us forth in the company of all your faithful saints, and the confidence of everlasting life with you.

Steadfast and loving God, gather these prayers we have offered, both aloud and silent, into your loving arms, for we know that you are faithful and will never abandon us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
