Upcoming Opportunities in Worship

  • Beginning on Sunday, May 17th, Cantor Pete Rizzo will begin collecting your favorite hymns for our annual "Summer of Singing," where we plug your favorite hymns and worship songs into our Sunday worship services.
  • Do you speak a language other than English? Cantor Kurt Schmidt is looking for a small group of readers to share the appointed lesson from Acts 2 in the languages of our community. Reach out to him if you are able and interested.

Opportunities to Serve Joyfully & Give Selflessly

Send Your Recipes!

Over the next few weeks, we are asking for two things from any and all members of the Zion, Evergreen, and Nina's community. First, if you are able to come this Saturday, May 17th, during Nina's Place hours (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), we will be surveying our neighbors about their cooking preferences and familiarity with fresh produce. If you like to chat with folks, this is an opportunity for you! Second, if you have delicious recipes that feature any of the fresh produce listed below, please send them to Kurt or drop a copy off in his mailbox. One of our goals is to help our neighbors (many from other places) make more nutritious choices and learn about produce that might be unfamiliar to them.

Synod Assembly Service Project

When the congregations from our synod meet every year, there is always a project benefitting an organization in the host city. This year's service project at Synod Assembly is with Hope Partnership in Kissimmee. The organization was formed in 2011 to meet the needs of the growing number of families and children experiencing poverty and living in hotels and motels along Highway 192. They have grown by providing a holistic community to meet the needs of the poor and homeless.

In addition to an onsite afternoon of service during the assembly, members from congregations in the Florida-Bahamas Synod are invited to shop online through the Hope Partnership Amazon Wishlist. All items purchased through this link will be shipped directly to the organization. Thank you for your generosity!

Fifth Sunday of Easter

Easter initiates a new day. It anticipates a new heaven and a new earth. The risen Christ is making all things new. In the mystery of holy baptism God has made new people of us. Today Jesus invites us to see everyone in a new light—through the lens of love.

Sunday's bulletin can be found here.
