PRINCE ALBERT II of MONACO
Returns to Hotel Bristol Palace
|
|
Arriving in Genoa recently to receive the title of Paganini Ambassador at Palazzo Tursi, Prince Albert II of Monaco once again chose Hotel Bristol Palace as his home away from home while in the city (seen here being welcomed by the hotel's Director, Giovanni Ferrando).
This visit marks Prince Albert's second stay at Hotel Bristol Palace for the second year in a row, where he enjoyed a stay in the hotel's new Presidential Suite La Superba.
It was a thrill for all the staff to once again welcome Prince Albert through the doors of Hotel Bristol Palace as he visited the city to receive this distinguished honor.

Hotel Bristol Palace Named on the
2023 Top 25 Historic Hotels Worldwide® Most Magnificent Ceilings and Domes List
|
|
Hotel Bristol Palace is very pleased to announce that it was recently named on The 2023 Top 25 Historic Hotels Worldwide® Most Magnificent Ceilings and Domes List , a celebration of the artistry and architecture of 25 historic hotels around the world by Historic Hotels Worldwide.
Hotel Bristol Palace was selected for this distinction in recognition of one of the finest details of the hotel in terms of architectural and cultural heritage - its elliptical staircase in Art Nouveau style. Seemingly suspended in space, it rises from the lobby to the top floor in a spectacular spiral, drawing the eye upward to a stunning stained glass window ceiling. Both from above and from below it offers a dizzying perspective, and legend says that the enveloping spiral is said to have inspired Alfred Hitchcock's film "Vertigo", with the staircase later being featured in the film. The great director was, in fact, a frequent guest of the hotel.
As Historic Hotels Worldwide states, this distinction is an acknowledgment of "some of the world’s finest surviving examples of historic stained glass, painted frescoes, hand-painted wallpaper, elaborate stucco, stenciled wood, and gold leaf" and honors "the creativity, craftsmanship, and extraordinary attention to detail that was painstakingly preserved or restored".
