Boston was on display this summer, and WorldBoston was at work. From the World Cup to Sail 250 and other major events across the region, Greater Boston had a rare opportunity to shine on a global stage — and our city and people rose to the moment.
For WorldBoston, it was also a chance to do what we do best: connect international visitors with the people, institutions, and ideas that make this region exceptional. We spent this once-in-a-generation summer maximizing opportunities for exchange and engagement, such as game watch parties, consular corps receptions on tall ships, and sports diplomacy roundtables. In preparation for the fall, we also sought opportunities to build an exciting slate of public programming.
Below, you’ll find the first round of save-the-dates for our signature Chat & Chowder and Great Decisions series. Stay tuned as well for an upcoming announcement about our annual flagship event, the Consuls Reception, which returns this October. In the meantime, enjoy the final weeks of a beautiful Massachusetts summer. As the weather begins to turn, WorldBoston looks forward to seeing you again.

WorldBoston's Sports Diplomacy Envoy, Cody Damon, contributed to a United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to a recently published white paper: "Sport As a Platform for Diplomacy and Dialogue"
In Cody's own words, he entered the United Nations to make an argument that cities and communities play a vital role in planning, executing, and benefiting from large national or international sports events. In reading the white paper, you'll find that its conclusion matches Cody's own perspective — reach is not impact. Some of the most durable Sports Diplomacy operates below even the state level, "People-to-people. City-to-city. Club-to-club."
As a whole, the paper addresses how sport can act as a practical means to advance UN Sustainable Development Goals, making a tangible change in communities beyond culture and commerce.

The Red Sox Heritage Nights have become a meaningful tradition at Fenway Park, celebrating the distinct communities that make up Boston. Heritage Nights not only create a space for international representation, but present opportunities for people to meet, support one another, and build relationships that extend beyond the ballpark.. WorldBoston engages in these celebrations by using sports diplomacy to connect international visitors and local communities through the shared love of baseball.

International Delegation Highlight | |
In late July, WorldBoston was thrilled to welcome the annual British-American Parliamentary Group (BAPG) delegation to Massachusetts.
For years, Boston has been the final stop on this prestigious legislative delegation’s U.S. journey. Massachusetts offers one of the nation’s oldest and most active state legislatures, giving visiting Members of Parliament a firsthand look at American federalism in action. Boston is also a natural bridge between the U.S. and the U.K., with deep historical ties, one of Britain’s most significant Consulates General, and an unmatched concentration of universities, innovation, and civic leadership.
Year after year, this exchange remains one of the most impactful international legislative programs that WorldBoston has the privilege of organizing. We’re honored that Boston continues to serve as the place where this remarkable and long-running exchange concludes—and where the British parliamentarians experience the very best of Massachusetts before returning home.
WorldBoston is proud to help bring it all together, drawing on decades of experience welcoming international leaders and creating meaningful exchanges that strengthen transatlantic understanding.
Our sincere thanks to the Massachusetts State Legislature, the British Consulate General in Boston, the Massachusetts office of Travel and Tourism, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment, and all of our other partners for engaging with our visitors and making this outstanding exchange possible.
