All for One, One for All! 🤝

Hello District 6970,

I visited the Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach. We had a great time, it was sports day, and I got the opportunity to wear a new Jags jersey I acquired at the season opener. I had the privilege of inducting 3 new members and one Rotarian transferring into our district, for a total of 4 new members. I was also honored to present President Mike with his Paul Harris +1 pin. Thank you, President Mike Swoboda and your amazing club members, for making me feel so welcome.

In The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, the motto “All for one and one for all” symbolizes loyalty, unity, and mutual support. Each individual acts for the benefit of the group, and in return, the group supports each individual.

Nothing shows the Rotary spirit of unity better than when our clubs come together. This past week, three Ocala clubs and three Nassau clubs each held joint socials. A few weeks earlier,  a few Orange Park clubs teamed up at a high school football game, supporting their community while promoting a joint event. All of these gatherings invited non-Rotarians and became mini–Discover Rotary opportunities.

The need for connection in our communities—and in the world—is greater than ever. Rotarians are peacekeepers, changemakers, and a force for good. People don’t just need to see what we do; they need to join us.

I was recently asked, “How do we champion inclusion, diversity, and make our clubs look like the communities we serve?” My answer: one-on-one gets it done. Talk to people at the grocery store, gas station (or charging station), or anywhere you go. You don’t need a perfect pitch, just invite them to a social or, even better, a service project. Actions speak louder than words.

Let’s show the world that Unite for Good isn’t just a theme—it’s a call to action. Together we are stronger. All for One, and One for All!

Have a great Rotary week, friends! 💙🌀

Serena Fisher

District Learning Facilitator

Serena is a member of the Rotary Club of Daytona Beach West. Serena has been a Rotarian for 7+ years. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, RLI Facilitator, and was also selected to be one of our 2025- Emerging leaders representing D6970 During the Zone 33/34 Summit held in Jacksonville, FL . You can't wrap up September, Basic Education and Literacy without spot lighting such a fantastic Rotarian who has done so much to help so many. Serena doesn't like to be in the spotlight but her hard work behind the scenes has created tremendous strides in the District's leadership training, productivity and leadership continuity. Serena created an Assistant Governor Manual which helps our AG's fully understand their roles which enables them to better support the clubs in their areas. Every district event or summit (Vibrant Club Workshop, Membership Summit) has Serena's fingerprints all over them. She also has a hand in the learning curriculum of our club President Elects for the next few years and is even now working with our current District Governor line on implementing succession planning methods. Fun Fact about Serena, in the not so distant past she was a "Gamer", MineCraft was her favorite. Thank you Serena for your leadership and all that you do to support our Rotarians and our clubs.
