34th Birthday Video
A couple of weeks ago on the 14 of February it was the cars 34th birthday so I shot a video to celebrate! On that day VIN plate FK10-000051 rolled off the production line in Tokyo. The last one was FK10-020123 and was manufactured in December 1991.

One of our members visited this site a few years back so we created a web page with pictures of the factory, Read more
OUR âBELLEâ WAS MANUFACTURED IN FEBRUARY 1991
If you are interested in finding out which month 1991 your car was manufactured, we can help. Find your car VIN (Vehicle Information Number) and Enter it here on the link you will see that the calendar on the page will show 02/91. You can then identify the month, like we did and found that Belle was manufactured in February 1991 đ

Clarion Media Support Repair Support Ends
As you may recall, about a year ago, Clarion, the company that had been providing upgrades and support for the Figaro's media unit, unfortunately, closed its doors. In its place, a new company, OEM Services, stepped in with the promise of providing the necessary support for our beloved vehicles. However, we understand that many of you have reached out to us expressing concerns about the level of service youâve experienced with OEM Services. We genuinely empathise with your frustrations, and despite our best efforts to establish communication with them through multiple phone messages and emails, we have been unable to connect. In light of these challenges, weâve made the difficult decision to remove OEM Services' contact information from our website, as we are committed to ensuring that our members receive only the highest standards of service.
Not being able to get the Clarion unit repaired or even upgraded is a major blow to the Figaro community. Due to the age of the unit, it can only go downhill as electronic components, connectors, and PCB boards used within the units become brittle and can fail over time. This will force owners to make decisions regarding what it is they could fit in its place. We are planning on updating our website and identifying products that may fit the bill. Watch this space.

Figaro designer Yoshiro Kobata reveals early concept drawings
As we joyfully commemorate the 34th birthday of our beloved Nissan Figaro today, we are thrilled to share insights from the brilliant mind behind its enchanting design, Yoshiro Kobata. Recently, Yoshiro unveiled some of his early concept sketches which date back to the 24th of March 1988 and the 19th of August 1988 which beautifully echo the timeless charm of the Figaro we adore today. His vision was to create an extraordinary automobile adorned with intricate detailsâthink exquisite radiator grills and delightful interior switchgear that add character to every ride. This celebration is not just about the car; it's a moment to honour Yoshiro's invaluable contributions that resonate deeply within our passionate Figaro community.

Buying â MotorFan Published April 1991
In our ongoing commitment to preserving the legacy of the Nissan Figaro, we are excited to share an insightful article written by Kazunori Morioka, which was published in the April 1991 edition of MotorFan (Volume 45 No 4) just two months after the Figaro made its debut in showrooms. This piece delves into the fascinating development journey of the Figaro, which emerged from the renowned Pike Series. Moriokaâs exploration of production numbers and sales channels offers us a unique glimpse into the early days of this beloved vehicle.
As Figaro enthusiasts, itâs always intriguing to reflect on the perspectives of journalists from that era, whether their sentiments were positive or critical. This article highlights the advanced techniques employed in the Figaroâs design, specifically regarding its chassis. The innovative full open-top structure not only preserves the integrity of the body sides but also enhances the vehicleâs overall rigidity while keeping weight to a minimum. Such engineering excellence significantly contributes to the ownership experience, allowing for a blend of style and performance that Figaro owners cherish.
We invite you, our valued members, to share your thoughts and personal experiences related to the developments discussed in this article. How do you feel these advancements have impacted your own Figaro journey? Your insights will enrich our community and reinforce the shared passion we have for this iconic car. Letâs continue to celebrate and honour the legacy of the Figaro together!

VALENTINE DAY
The Image That Makes Us Smile :)
| |
|
Members Ian JJ Mortimer and Francine Hendrie with Poppy and Paddington Bear. Poppy is always out and about, and on Valentine's Day, to celebrate Figaroâs 34th birthday, they visited Norwich Cathedral and took her to see the newly installed Paddington statue situated in the Cathedral grounds. The statue joins Paddington Visits, a UK and Ireland-wide trail of 23 other statues.
The picture is a delightful snapshot that truly captures the whimsical spirit of The Figaro Owners Club! It's a vibrant testament to our mantra of "let's not take life too seriously," where laughter and lightheartedness rev up the engine of our camaraderie. Whether weâre cruising down the road or sharing a chuckle over a classic Figaro tale, it's all about the joy of the journey and the friendships we forge along the way.

Words and Pictures by Jaymes Gardiner
When I was little, I always loved cars. I always liked the more quirky-looking cars like the Nissan Cube, but the main one I loved was, of course, the Figaro. My love for the car grew more when it appeared in the spin-off of my favourite show, Doctor Who, in the form of The Sarah Jane Adventures, which started in 2007âit was then that I decided that one day Iâll have a Figaro!
Jumping forward to 2024, I decided that I was going to go for it and get a Figaro and get rid of my Audi TT Mrk 2, most people would say thatâs a car drop but the Figaro was my dream car so in my eyes it was a step up! My partner and I found one in Coventry, which was perfect, but it meant going all the way from Poole (in the far South) up the country by train up North to get this car. There were a few things here and there that were off about the car mainly being we couldnât get in the lower boot but we decided to take it and drive back, and she drove very very well so we knew we got a good one!
| |
|
So now I have my dream car, I treat her as my prized possession as she is! Iâve Doctor Whoified her along with dedicating her to the late great Elizabeth Sladen who played Sarah Jane Smith by naming the car Liz! I take her to car shows and meet when possible and show off all the adventures Me and Liz go through on my dedicated Instagram: liz_the_nissan_figaro
People just seem to love her, the number of times people ask me things as Iâm getting out of the car is so charming! Hope to keep Liz as long as possible as I love her a lot and makes me feel proud that I managed to get my dream car at last !!

AND FINALLY
ï»żA JOKE TO TICKLE YOUR FIGARO
| |
|
THANKS TO FIGARO SMILES
The friendliest and most active Nissan Figaro community on Facebook
| |
Our son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro having seen the car at his local garage when he was just 16. After saving for several years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he, at last, brought an emerald green model in May 2008 and named it "Figgy".
Following the purchase, Sue and I searched the internet for a club in the hope we could attend events and meet other owners. We were amazed that at that time no club existed so we thought, well why not and on the 1st March 2009 the Figaro Owners Club was born!
| |
â
This is a picture of Daniel taken when he was just 19 back in 2008 with Figgy
"We decided to build a basic website and forum which took a few months and on the 1st March 2009, pressed the publish button and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478!"
Today the club has around 1,200 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
