Drivers urged to slow down, pay attention
as construction ramps up
As construction season ramps up, MoDOT is urging drivers to slow down and pay attention. So far this year, motorists have struck 18 work zone buffer trucks.

And even with lower traffic volumes, MoDOT and law enforcement agencies are seeing a drastic increase in speeding. We need to reverse this dangerous trend.

It’s never too early to start teaching kids about roadway safety.  In conjunction with Work Zone Awareness Week, MoDOT has launched a web page that features printable mazes, word games, a comic book and coloring pages designed to share safety messages for future drivers.

Keeping Missouri roadways clean starts with you

Missouri to receive grants
Gov. Mike Parson announced that Missouri will receive two grants under the federal CARES Act to help respond to the COVID-19 crisis. One grant of more than $152 million will help 75 Missouri airports stay viable at this critical time. Another grant of more than $61 million will provide a needed boost to the state’s rural transit system.
States collaborating on transportation strategies
To keep the supply chain of critical goods and services intact during the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officers are coordinating strategies that will help the citizens of the central United States. Read more.
MoDOT employee is vice-chair of water council

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials appointed MoDOT’s Cheryl Ball to a two-year term as vice-chair of the Council on Water Transportation. Ball is currently the waterways and freight administrator for MoDOT. She is a 32-year veteran and has been in her current position since 2011. Read more.
