Last weekend, I hit the back roads of North Texas riding with a buddy on Saturday and a short solo ride on Sunday. While riding in the blazing Texas sun, you never know what surprises await. First, I was surprised by a hot air balloon drifting low over a pasture, and then a coyote ran right by me startled by the balloon. I don't see coyotes very often, but when I do, I never see them chasing a roadrunner.

It was also a perfect morning to put my winter-acquired cooling gear to the test. With temps in the 90's and high humidity, let me tell you, it made a world of difference against that early Texas heat. Hope everyone is getting in at least some short rides during this hot time of year. Depending on your location on this big spinning blue ball, it might be cool where you are. If so, lucky you. I am already ready for Fall.

Both long and short rides are all great therapy. As they say,

"Four wheels moves the body; two wheels move the soul."
