A Landmark Match Day for KansasCOM

We are pleased to share that the inaugural class of Kansas Health Science University's Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine achieved a 97% residency match rate. This milestone reflects both the exceptional commitment of our student doctors and the strong support they have received from leaders across Kansas. This year’s national results offer helpful comparison: DO graduates matched at 93.2% on average, making KansasCOM’s match rate quite the achievement.

  • Over 50% are entering primary care fields
  • 25% are entering Emergency Medicine
  • Several students earned placements in highly competitive specialties, such as Radiation Oncology and Child Neurology.

Donuts with DOs and Special Recognition at the Statehouse

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Donuts with DOs event at the Statehouse. We appreciated the chance to meet with you, share conversations over coffee and breakfast, and introduce you to the remarkable student doctors preparing to serve our communities.

As the first new medical school in the state in more than 100 years, we are grateful for the strong relationships we share with members of the Legislature. Thank you again for spending part of your day with us. During our visit, we were also honored to receive recognition on both the Kansas House and Senate floors as we approach the inaugural graduation of KansasCOM. We are grateful to Representative Angela Martinez and Senator Silas Miller, who represent our district, for presenting these acknowledgments, and for joining us in celebrating the progress of our students and our mission.
