Hamilton Property Community Visioning Survey #1

We want your input!

The City of Two Rivers has launched a resident-driven visioning process to develop a shared community vision for what should be developed here. City Hall wants to hear from you before any decisions are made on future site development.

We are inviting you to share your ideas of new businesses for Two Rivers, generally, and the Hamilton property specifically. This is the first of three surveys that will inform the community visioning process. Your feedback by March 27th would be greatly appreciated. Click the button below to take the survey.

In addition, the Phase 2 meetings are coming up at the end of the month. These meetings will focus on prioritizing development options for the property and begin exploring how projects and possibilities would look on the site. Attendees will be asked to explore site planning and placing options on site maps. These will be used to further develop an array of 3-5 potential development concepts.

Two opportunities to participate:

City Debt Capacity Is Increasing Providing Added Flexibility

Managing Debt While Investing in the City

The chart above shows Two Rivers’ long-term general obligation debt capacity, and the takeaway is simple: even while we continue investing in streets, parks, and equipment, the City remains well below its legal debt limit and our own conservative policy thresholds. The City continues to retire more debt than it issues, with approximately $2.6 million retired in 2025 and an additional $2.7 million scheduled for retirement in 2026, resulting in a declining overall debt load.

This analysis assumes the City continues borrowing about $2–$2.5 million annually for capital needs. Even with that level of investment, available debt capacity stays strong... and actually grows over time... as existing debt is retired and property values increase.

In every year shown, the City maintains more than 40% available debt capacity, while retiring millions of dollars in debt each year. This reflects responsible financial management, helps avoid deferred maintenance, and preserves flexibility for future City Councils rather than pushing costs and risks down the road.

Looking for Artists:

Downtown Banner Art Program

Art Street 2026

Two Rivers Main Street is looking for artists interested in having their art displayed on Washington Street this summer. This art will be printed on banners that will be displayed on light poles along Washington Street in Downtown Two Rivers.

This is the sixth year of this public art initiative in Two Rivers. It is an opportunity for artists to display their work for the thousands of people that visit downtown Two Rivers each year, for festivals, concerts, and more. Artists young and old are encouraged to pick up a canvas and create their entry. We charge $20 per adult and $10 per youth, we do this in order to get artist buy-in so that the quality of art is high.

Interested artists may pick up their canvas at the Two Rivers Main Street office located at 1608 Washington Street or at Inky Blues Community Art Center – 1506 20th Street to participate. Completed art must be returned to either location before April 1st.

There is space for 28 pieces of art to be displayed on Washington Street this summer, and all submissions will be displayed at Inky Blues Community Art Center. Paintings will be returned to artists at the end of the exhibition.
