It’s rare to send this email and not expect rain, so things are trending up. Hopefully, that trend will continue and be applied to the postseason play of the Knicks and Rangers. But since I doubt anyone subscribed to this newsletter to read about sports, I’ll shift to civics.

First, on Thursday, April 25th, our Landmarks/Land Use committee met and recommended approval, with conditions, for two Certificates of Appropriateness (C of A). The first was for doors at 218 Lincoln Place, and the second was for the front and rear facade, materials, and massing at 431 7th Avenue. Those landmark items and liquor licenses slated to be reviewed Monday will be on the Agenda at our May 8th Full Board meeting.

Second, check out the interactive housing production maps the Department of City Planning released. From macro and micro perspectives, the maps help highlight the city’s lacking and uneven housing production amid an absolute crisis. Looking at it by community district, you’ll see that of the 59 community districts, housing production in 10 equals the other 49, and those ten relatively high-producing districts do not include CB6. We only added 207 housing units in CB6 last year.

Third, I recommend that you read the rest of this email. If you do, you’ll find meetings, petitions, coffee, cleanups, surveys, lobsters, ASP, Arts, and more. Whether you read it or not, I wish you the best, and Let’s Go Rangers & Knicks!
