SEABROOK MAKES AN APPEARANCE ON HOUSTON LIFE | | SEABROOK'S WATERFRONT DRIVE | |
WHY WATERFRONT DRIVE?
STUNNING VIEWS & EASE OF ACCESS
Waterfront Drive is the heart of Seabrook’s scenic waterfront, offering panoramic views of Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. The combination of stunning water views, easy access to Houston, and a growing local economy make this location incredibly attractive to developers, brokers, and investors.
| | | The Economic Development Corporation and the city partnered in raising and modernizing the road in 2012. With a number of current fish markets, the district has plenty of room for development. | | |
Here are some key reasons why Waterfront Drive should be on every broker’s and developer’s radar:
- Waterfront Residential Developments: A Growing Demand
- Mixed-Use Developments: Creating Vibrant Communities
- Hospitality and Tourism: A Gateway for Waterfront Hotels and Resorts
- Retail, Dining, and Entertainment: Creating a Waterfront Destination
| | |
For brokers and developers looking for a prime location with a blend of natural beauty, maritime history, and economic potential, Seabrook’s Waterfront Drive, or “The Point” (as we like to refer to it), offers a wealth of development opportunities. Whether you’re interested in residential, commercial, tourism, or recreational developments, Waterfront Drive can support a wide variety of projects.
With its growing reputation as a desirable waterfront community and its proximity to Houston, Seabrook offers an exceptional opportunity to invest in the future of the Texas Gulf Coast. Now is the time for brokers and developers to consider Seabrook as the next hot spot for growth, and Waterfront Drive is at the heart of that exciting transformation.

NEW DOWNTOWN PARK COMING SOON!
Imagine eating a wonderful meal, enjoying a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, and/or a small plate and then taking an evening stroll down Main Street to sit on a bench and watch the sun set. You can in Seabrook, and it is only going to get better.
This past month, the City, in collaboration with the Economic Development Corporation, started designing a new park space that may offer serene and unique views of sunrises and sunsets while being steps away from Old Seabrook businesses.
| | Part of what makes Seabrook stand out is the balance of business opportunity and quality of life. You can’t build a bay in the middle of a city—and you don’t have to when you’re in Seabrook. | | |
INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES
NORTH MEYER
The Old Seabrook district harbors many of the same thoroughfares from decades ago, giving the district charm but creating hurdles for a new walkable and connected area. The city and the EDC have joined forces by identifying the area in the plans for upgrades. One of the first street projects is the reconstruction of North Meyer to include a good pedestrian connection for SH 146 into the district.
CITY BOAT RAMP
Also, the weekends are all about the water in a coastal town, and Seabrook loves its boating community. Since the SH 146 expansion, the city has been inoperable with a public boat ramp space close to the area. TxDOT has announced that they have completed designs to restore the Seabrook Boat Ramp, which will provide another convenient access point from which to enjoy the amenities and unique dining options in Old Seabrook. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.

The Seabrook Economic Development Corporation (EDC) proudly celebrated a major milestone for one of Old Seabrook’s most beloved businesses, Jenuine Treasures, as part of its Business Anniversary Program Initiative. On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the EDC presented owner Jennifer Pitts with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of five years of success, creativity, and contribution to the local economy.
Since opening its doors in 2019, Jenuine Treasures has evolved into more than just a boutique. It has become a hub for over twenty local artisans and makers, offering a rotating collection of handcrafted items, gifts, and decor. Located at 902 Hardesty Avenue, Jenuine Treasures has played a key role in revitalizing the Old Seabrook district, drawing regular visitors and repeat customers with its one-of-a-kind finds and community-centered events.
“What makes Jenuine Treasures strong is the vendors,” said Pitts during the celebration. “We’ve built something special together, and I’m proud to be a part of Seabrook’s vibrant small business community.”
| | |
The boutique regularly hosts monthly craft markets, workshops, and after-hours events, providing even more opportunities for local makers to connect with the public. As the only retail storefront in Old Seabrook, its presence has helped anchor economic activity and bring visibility to the district.
The Seabrook EDC is honored to support milestones like this through its anniversary recognition program, spotlighting the entrepreneurs and business owners who continue to invest in our community.
