Stewardship Campaign Update

2027 Stewardship Campaign Update

Thank you to everyone who has already pledged to the “Upholding One Another in Love” Annual Stewardship Campaign! Our participation goal is 90 people/families pledging and our financial goal is $450,000 by November 15th. As Abbey Stuckless noted last Sunday in her talk, by pledging - you support the good works our faith

community performs.

Last December, we reported the following to our bishop for 2024 and 2025:

• Monthly food contributions to the Woodley House

• Serve breakfast weekly at Christ House

• 2 Christmas “Giving Trees” for Housing Up

• Samaritan Ministries Breakfast Fundraiser in 2024 and 2025

• $10,000 in grants to charities in 2024 and $10,000 again in 2025

• $10,000 to the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem for Gaza/Pallestian relief -2024

• $10,635 to the Haiti Micah Project - providing meals, schooling, and medical care for orphans in Haiti – 2025

• $5,000 to Woodley House in 2024 and again in 2025 for general support

• 2 Capital Area Food Bank Service days

• 1 Rock Creek Park Cleanup Day

• 2 All Souls church clean-up days in both 2024 and 2025

• Over $500 for the Episcopal Church in Cuba in 2024.

Make a Pledge

You can pledge online here or by filling out a pledge card and placing it in the offering plate or mailing it in to Andrea Meier, our Parish Administrator. Or you can contact Andrea directly and she can record your pledge for you.

Thank you! - Jeff Wells, 2027 Stewardship Chair

All Saints & All Souls Day Necrology

It isn't too late, please let Andrea know the names of any of your deceased loved ones to be mentioned on November 1st, All Saints/All Souls Day. Email her at office@allsoulsdc.org no later than this Monday, Oct. 26. You may also fill out the form here.

Diaper Drive through Nov. 1

What’s with the growing pile of diapers in the undercroft?

The DC Diaper Bank supports vulnerable families by distributing essential baby and hygiene products to those who need them most. To help in a small way, and to celebrate the opening of our All Souls Nursery, the Outreach Committee is hosting a diaper drive. Between now and All Saints Day November 1, those with extra diapers, pullups, or overnights can bring them to the undercroft (open packages ok). They can also take new and unopened wipes. Others can donate cash or checks through All Souls, indicate Diaper Drive in the memo section on your check.

Please see Daniel Callis for any questions.

Lectors Needed

ARE YOU BEING CALLED TO THE LECTORS’ MINISTRY?

We are now compiling the Lectors’ Schedule for Nov-Dec-Jan. If you feel called to join us in this ministry, please contact Will Stewart, Lector Coordinator, as soon as possible so we can see if you would be a good fit. [To our current lectors: please inform Will of your away dates for this quarter if you have not already done so.]

Thanks! Will

  • I have served as a lector.
  • I was on the vestry for three years.
  • I have volunteered at Christ House for about eight years.
  • I was on the Stewardship Committee and served as co-chair for several years.

If you have not been confirmed in The Episcopal Church yet, now is your opportunity! Saturday November 14th at 10 am., Bishop Budde will confirm you and/or receive you into the Episcopal Church, along with members of other congregations in the Diocese. This is a most beautiful venue to commit yourself to God. I will attend the service with you and you can bring friends and family.

If you have already been confirmed in another church, you can be received into the Episcopal Church at that service. If you have been away from God for a while, you can reaffirm your commitment to Christ.

A Wonderful Time with the Bishop

A REASSURING TIME WAS HAD WITH BISHOP MARIANN ON OCT. 16

On Friday, October 16, our Parish had the joy of hosting over 70 young adults from

across the Diocese of Washington, and ecumenical friends from beyond for a thoughtful

discussion with Bishop Mariann Budde. With pastoral warmth and wisdom, Bishop

Budde invited us to trust in God’s gentle guidance through our ever-changing world and

remember that we never walk life’s path alone. A heartfelt thank you to our Vestry, Wardens (especially our Junior Warden who was able to attend!), and all the dedicated volunteers from our young adult group here at All Souls who welcomed our guests with such gracious hospitality.

What’s Next?

The DC Episcopal Fellowship is launching a series of young adult symposiums. The first, focusing on Mental Health & God, will be held at St. Monica & St. James on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:00 PM (optional Mass at 6:00 PM). For details, please contact Joe Neal.

We invite you to keep our young adults in your prayers as they grow together in faith and community.

- Peace & Blessings, Joe Neal, Co-Coordinator, DC Episcopal Fellowship (DCEF)
