Dear OLOL Families,
Please plan on joining the OLOL School Community as we “Bounce into Summer” on Saturday, June 1st. The event starts with the 4:30PM Saturday Night Mass. Our students will lead the Mass with students reading scripture and singing in the choir. If your son or daughter are interested in participating at Mass please access the Sign-up Genius here. Following Mass we will have bounce houses and food trucks available. We are inviting all 55 new students (first time at OLOL as a student) and 29 new families. Please plan on attending and meeting the incredible number of new students and families.
The OLOL staff offers their thanks to all of the parents that helped fund our Teacher Appreciation Week. Your support of our teachers is unparalleled.
Our interview teams have been busy the last week securing teaching talent for our school. Candidates ask our team what they like about teaching at OLOL. Each teacher always replies that they love the parent support that they receive here and have never seen it anywhere else. Thanks for all that you do for us.
A special thanks for Bridget Destree who worked tirelessly on Teacher Appreciation week. Bridget is always ready to volunteer for any task at OLOL and we will miss her and her family as they are moving to Neenah, at the end of the school year. Thank you Destree Family for all that you have done over the years!
The staff had a great afternoon on Friday. We did a deep data dive of our students spring STAR assessment results. We had over 75% of our students reach their target growth numbers in math and reading from fall to spring. That was well over our school goal of 60%. The data also showed that over 95% of our students are at mastery level for their grade level. Our students are achieving and learning at high rates! We know that parents play a huge role in helping our students achieve. Thank you parents for your role in the process.
“When you know how much God is in love with you then you can only live your life radiating that love” - Mother Theresa

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
|
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Pentecost Sunday
John 20:19-23
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, "Peace be with you."
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,
and whose sins you retain are retained."

News from OLOL School Library
Last week we celebrated Children’s Book Week.
- Students participated in a Book Swap.
- Third Grade had the most participants. Way to go Third Graders!
- Finnley Arkins was the winner of the “Guess How Many Bookworms are in the Jar” contest. He guessed 335 which was the closest to the actual number of 363. Congrats to Finnley. Enjoy your gummy worms!
The teachers at Our Lady of Lourdes are encouraging all students to participate in the Summer Challenge Reading Program. Students need to read a certain number of books, depending on their ages, fill out the sheet and return it to school by Tuesday,
September 3.
All participants will receive a dress down day and the class with the highest percentage of participants will receive an extra recess. Students will be given
their sheets on Monday, May 20. If your child’s paper gets misplaced, please email me for a replacement at sbrys@gracesystem.org anytime over the summer.
