For most of my life, I have been a witness to what I call moments of truth. Those small, defining moments when something shifts. When character is revealed. When a response quietly shapes culture. Long before I had language for it, I felt the urge to preserve those moments. I wanted proof that something meaningful had happened.
That instinct first showed up through a camera lens. For more than three decades, I documented the in-between moments. The laughter before anyone noticed. The tenderness. The messiness. My children called me the “mamarazzi.” Years later, they thanked me. I was never collecting photos. I was safeguarding memory.
When my mother was diagnosed with dementia, that instinct deepened. Before recipes disappeared and rituals faded, I captured them. Weekend by weekend, side by side in the kitchen. That hardback printed cookbook now lives in dozens of homes. People cook from it. They remember her. Watching someone you love slowly lose pieces of themselves clarifies what matters.
Over the last twenty-five years, that same awareness shaped my professional life. I have worked inside complex organizations helping leaders navigate transformation. Again and again, I saw the same truth. Strategy rarely fails on paper. It breaks in moments of truth. In how we treat people. In how we respond under pressure.
Articles explain. Talks inspire. Advisory work solves. A book preserves.
On March 4, Zero to Hero: The Human Experience in Leadership and Business Transformation will release. This is my first solo book!
It is not a checklist. It is a blueprint for leaders ready to transform chaos into clarity and elevate people while driving results. It explores the zero moments that test us and the hero moments that emerge when we respond with clarity, courage, and intention. It is about designing leadership from the inside out.
Reading it out loud changed everything for me. Hearing my own voice carry the words made me realize this was not simply content. It was stewardship.
That is not marketing. That is legacy.
If you have been reading these Two-Cents Tuesdays, now in our 77th edition, you have witnessed this evolution. Thank you for walking alongside it.
If this message resonates, the book is available for pre-order here:
This book reflects what I have believed for years.
Leadership is not built in grand gestures.
It is shaped in moments of truth.
And I am grateful to finally share mine.
Have an immediate reflection on this? Tell me about it!
