🗣️ Conversation groups can make a difference!
A 2025 study looked at conversation-based treatment for 104 people with chronic aphasia over 10 weeks. Participants took part in either individual, partner, or large-group conversation treatment.
The researchers found improvements in communication for people who participated in the large-group treatment, along with improvements in naming across the treatment groups.
Why does this matter? It supports something we see at TAP every week: conversation isn't just a way to practice communication—it can be part of rehabilitation itself.
At TAP, our conversation groups give people with aphasia regular opportunities to communicate, connect with others, practice real-life communication, and build confidence in a supportive group environment.
💙 This research supports what we believe: meaningful conversation is meaningful rehabilitation!
