EDC Team Jefferson Welcomes
New Executive Director
[Jefferson County, WA, 11/1/21] – EDC Team Jefferson announces Cindy Brooks as its incoming Executive Director. The Economic Development Council is thrilled to welcome Brooks after a thorough search and interview process that involved community and administrative leaders.

Brooks will formally assume the role December 1, but has already begun engaging with local leaders and will participate in EDC Team Jefferson board meetings in November. The Board of Directors unanimously supported Brooks for the position. She will lead the organization to provide economic development services in alignment with the Multi-Party Agreement established in partnership between EDC Team Jefferson, Jefferson County, the City of Port Townsend, Port of Port Townsend, and Jefferson County Public Utility District #1.

Cindy brings a wealth of experience, working most recently as the Economic Recovery Coordinator for the North Olympic Development Council. Brooks is a resident of North Beach in Port Townsend and expressed an eagerness to establish a strategic approach to the economic future of Jefferson County. Her wholehearted approach to leadership is based in relationship building, developmental processes and regenerative systems thinking. The board valued her knowledge of rural entrepreneurship and business ownership models that support community health and wealth, including cooperative development, social ventures, public-private partnerships and hybrid organizations. “We are excited about having Cindy on board to lead our group toward the vision described in the Multi-Party Agreement,” wrote EDC Team Jefferson Board Chair Ben Bauermeister.

Community members and local business leaders are sure to see and hear more from Cindy in the coming months; all are encouraged to reach out to her directly at director@edcteamjefferson.org.
