Maximizing Impact & Exploring Planned Giving
As we welcome the holiday season, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the impact we can make together. Here are ways two of our programs have been serving the community in December with the support of our donors.
211 Call Center:
Our 211 team works 365 days a year, 24/7 to provide free confidential support and referrals to those in need of services and resources. Throughout the month of December, 211 connected 1,200 Lancaster County families with food boxes from our partnership with LCPN, helping bring comfort to those in need over the holiday season.
Volunteer Center:
Our Volunteer Center connected close to 2,000 individuals with volunteer opportunities to support those in need last year. During this holiday season, team members have been busy connecting caring individuals with paths to spread some cheer through our Annual Holiday Giving Guide. This guide is packed with opportunities for community members to make a difference — whether it’s decorating local centers, preparing meals, organizing toy drives, or distributing winter clothing, our Volunteer Center is matching caring volunteers with nonprofits and neighbors in need.
Your support, no matter the amount, brings hope and opportunity to our community. Make a difference with a donation to United Way of Lancaster County before the year ends!

Pre-K EITC
Thank you to the generous local businesses for transforming their tax dollars to pre-k scholarships through the Pre-Kindergarten Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (Pre-K EITC.) So far this year, we’ve received a total of $70,000, which is an increase of 32% over last year. Through this program, families attending our partner pre-schools can access tuition assistance for high quality early learning programs, preparing young learners for success in their K-12 pathways.
This year’s contributors are PPL, Avalon Insurance, Orrstown Bank, Truist, United Health Services of Pennsylvania, Capital Blue Cross and M&T Bank.
