Church Breakfast this Sunday

Join us this Sunday, October 18th from 8:45-9:30 a.m. for our church breakfast. Our stellar crew of volunteer chefs will create a scrumptious spread for our parish family. This is a perfect opportunity to bring a friend and introduce them to Christ Church!

Brunch in a Bag this Sunday

The Sunday School and Youth Team is scheduled to host Brunch in a Bag this Sunday. Meet at 9:30 to prepare sandwiches and snacks which will be served to those in our community in need. This is a great outreach opportunity for families to participate in together. All are welcome! If you plan on being there, please let Randy or Jenny know. Reverend Randy Parks at (862) 266-0513 or randolph.parks@atlantichealth.org. The Sunday School and Youth Team is scheduled again on December 13.

Sunday School Lesson

This week in Sunday School, we’ll explore Matthew 22:15–22, when Jesus is asked whether people should pay taxes to Caesar. We’ll discover how Jesus answered this tricky question and what it teaches us about making choices, being responsible, and honoring God. Through discussion and activities, we’ll think about how we can live out our faith in our everyday lives!

NEW- Middle & High School Lesson

This Sunday, The Rev. Patricia Lyons will be with the middle and high schoolers during Sunday School time. Meet in the parlor after making sandwiches for brunch in a bag. This is different from Sunday School and is designed specifically for teens.

Sunday School Sings in Church

November 1st

Sunday School Singers will make their inaugural debut on Sunday, November 1 at the 10AM Service on All Saints Day. They have been practicing the hymn: I Sing a Song of the Saints of God. I have included a performance of children singing the hymn and also the word sheet we are using in Sunday School. If your child would like to dress as one of the characters in the song (e.g. doctor, queen, shepherdess or shepherd, priest, soldier, a fierce beast, etc.) it would greatly enhance their performance. While November 1 is the day following Halloween, it is also the day that we gain an hour by setting the clocks back. I hope your child will be able to join us on All Saints Day to celebrate in song.

Join the Junior Choir

Children in grades 1 - 7 are invited to join the Junior Choir under the direction of Debbie Mello. The group rehearses weekly on Sundays, 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in the Sunday School Room. The Junior Choir sings every other week and also on high holy days and special services. We have a great group of returning choristers and would love to have your child join us! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Mello, dmello435@gmail.com.

Sunday School Rewind

October 11th

Last Sunday in Sunday School, we talked about weddings! We explored Jesus’ parable of The Wedding Banquet from Matthew 22:1–14 and learned about different wedding traditions around the world. We also talked about how heaven is like a wedding banquet, a joyful celebration where everyone is invited to share in God’s love.

On Going:

Children's Snack Table in Holley Hall

We love seeing our kids enjoying coffee hour and gathering together after Sunday School! We also know that growing kids are hungry. Just a friendly reminder that the food at coffee hour is intended as a snack, not a full meal, and lately our kids have been enjoying quite a bit of it. Starting this Sunday, there will be a separate table in Holley Hall with snacks specifically for the kids. We’re hoping this will make it easier for everyone to enjoy coffee hour and make sure there is enough to go around. Parents, please help us by reminding your children to take a reasonable snack and leave some for others. We appreciate your help and understanding!

Parent's Run on Coffee

Don't have anything to do between 9:30 a.m., when you drop your kids off at Sunday School, and worship at 10 a.m.? Now you do! Come enjoy a cup of coffee, mingle with other parents, and check out what's happening in Sunday School.

Sunday School Morning Schedule

Sunday School begins at 9:30. Parents are welcome to have coffee and mingle until worship at 10 AM. The morning begins with interactive stations, followed by music with Mrs. Mello. Next, the children have large group, where they share Roses & Thorns, pray and are introduced to the lesson. Then the children break into classrooms to dive deeper into the lesson with age-appropriate activities, crafts and discussion. Finally, everyone goes to the sanctuary for Eucharist with their family.
