Spark Fun in the Park!
Spring has sprung and Summer is right around the corner, so it’s a great time to plan Spark Fun in the Park events!
Adult Optimist Clubs and Junior Optimist Clubs alike can host and participate in these fun events whenever it works best for the community. These events can be as big or as small as your Club can accommodate. Just have fun!
Clubs can also use these events as opportunities to partner with community organizations such as the local fire department, city safety department, parks department or others. Partnerships with local businesses can also allow for funding of beverages, snacks and youth entertainment.
One example of Spark Fun in the Park is hosting local cornhole/bean bags tournaments. These tournaments promote healthy, outdoor activities among adults and youth and can encourage social interaction, create positive attitudes, and build skills in this competitive sport.

- Face painting
- Tug of war
- Hula hoop contests
- Sack and relay races
