Due to rising postage costs, we are once again launching our annual giving campaign via email, in an effort to ensure that more of your generous support goes directly to our mission and ministries. For those of you comfortable with completing your pledge form online, please click here. If you prefer to download a hard copy form and mail it in, please click here. (If we have not received your pledge form by Oct. 26th, we will send you a letter and form via the US Postal Service.) Thank you for your support!

Greetings!

At the heart of our life together this year are two simple phrases: Be Known. Be Loved.

These words name our calling to be a community where people can bring their whole selves—their joys and questions, gifts and struggles, hopes and hurts—and discover that they are known and loved by God and by one another.

Over this past year, I have seen that calling come alive at St. John’s: in the welcome offered to newcomers, in children discovering that they belong, and in friendships formed through worship, learning, music, and service. I see it in the care we offer through grief and transition, our growing partnership with the Parish Day School, and our commitment to loving our neighbors. I see it whenever one person takes the time to truly know another.

Our annual pledge campaign helps sustain and grow this community. A pledge is an investment in people and relationships: in worship and pastoral care, formation and music, children and youth, outreach, and the daily work of helping people experience God’s love.

This is an important moment for St. John’s. We are strengthening our ministries, expanding our clergy leadership, deepening our partnership with the Day School, and creating opportunities for connection and belonging. Together, we can build faithfully for the future.

As you consider your pledge for the coming year, I invite you to pray about what generosity might look like for your household. If you already pledge, consider whether you can increase your commitment. If you have never pledged, perhaps this is the year to begin. Every pledge, whatever its size, helps us plan faithfully for the ministry we share.

My hope is that our generosity will help shape a common life in which people experience the love we proclaim.

Thank you for the many ways you already make that possible. I am deeply grateful for your generosity, your faithfulness, and the privilege of sharing this ministry with you.

May we all be known and loved.

Faithfully,

Rev. Derek
