Consider Supporting the ASGC Programs by Donating

Did you know that it took an average of $225 for our staff to run each program in 2021? This cost included using technology to bring people together from different areas, coordinating good times for online Zoom meetings, and bringing in facilitators to make sure everything ran smoothly. Today, our programs are both online and in-person, and aim to serve a mix of school age and teenage kids, as well as many programs for adults and parents / caregivers. Donating to ASGC ensures that we can continue providing programs to you and your neighbors.

In a Different Key Movie Screening on PBS

Tuesday, December 13 9/8c

In a Different Key is based on the Pulitzer Prize-nominated book, In a Different Key, written by journalists Caren Zucker and John Donvan. The movie shows a true story of love, autism, and the fight to belong. The film features a mother who tracks down the first person ever diagnosed with autism to a rural Mississippi town to learn whether his life story holds promise for her own autistic son. Her journey exposes a startling record of cruelty and kindness alike-framed by forces like race, money, and privilege. She ultimately finds hope for a future with greater acceptance for those who are considered different.

For the first time, the In a Different Key movie will be premiering on PBS stations nationwide, and will be simultaneously streamed across all station-branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS Video app. The initial premier is on Tuesday, December 13 at 9/8c, but it will be available to stream on the PBS site and app mentioned for 30 days following the preview.
