Preserving the Birthplace of the American Revolution

Patriots' Day 250 at Minute Man

The 250th Anniversary of the opening battle of the American Revolution at Minute Man National Historical Park was a tremendous success, drawing thousands of visitors to honor the events of April 19, 1775.

The park hosted a series of immersive and educational programs throughout the week, culminating in an extraordinary Patriots’ Day tactical demonstration. With the participation of hundreds of dedicated living history volunteers, visitors witnessed dramatic portrayals of the running battle and civilian evacuation along Battle Road.

Special thanks to the amazing park staff, volunteers, law enforcement, Friends of Minute Man Leadership Circle members, supporters, and sponsors, as well as our community partners who made these events possible.

And this is just the beginning—National Park Service staff are already hard at work planning more 250th Anniversary programs throughout 2025. Save the date for a special 250th cannon program on June 7th - stay tuned for more details via our email newsletter.

Spring Blooms in the Buttrick Gardens

A string of warm weather and abundant rain has accelerated the Buttrick Gardens bloom sequence. Daffodils are nearly done, bleeding hearts are sending out valentine-like flowers, and iris buds are swelling.

Peak blooms of iris and peony are expected in late May. Shortly thereafter, the Sunken Garden will become a symphony of blue, lavender, and pink delphinium, followed by pink and yellow foxgloves.
