Receive BVEF Grants

Meal delivery partners Meals on Wheels of San Diego County and the Borrego Seniors Community Center each received generous grants from the Borrego Valley Endowment Fund (BVEF) to sustain their program of providing and delivering meals to home bound Seniors in our area.

Meals on Wheels produces the meals and delivers them to Borrego Springs, where the Seniors Center stores them, sorts them, and delivers them with their team of volunteers. The meals are delicious and healthy, with well-balanced proportions of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and reduced amounts of sugar and salt. Meals come with fresh fruit and milk or juice.

Chief Operating Officer Keith Fisher and North County Service Center Director Helen Lopez traveled to Borrego on March 18 for a elegant luncheon provided by the BVEF at the Coyote Steakhouse. Many other grantee nonprofits attended as well to show their gratitude to BVEF.

Thanks to generous donors such as BVEF and strong partners like Meals on Wheels, these meals are distributed free of charge and will remain so. The Springs at Borrego RV Resort Camp Hosts are Amazing People!

In Borrego Springs there are so many amazing people that do things for organizations like the Children's Center. They never ask for recognition, but we here at the Borrego Springs Youth and Seniors Center want to say "THANK YOU" to the wonderful Camp Hosts that are at The Springs RV Resort. These wonderful people hold pancake breakfast, concerts and other events for people in the community and the Springs, and in the kindness of their hearts they give all the proceeds they collect to the Children’s Center.

We just want them to know that we greatly appreciate them thinking about the children in Borrego. We will forever be grateful to you for supporting us.
