Happy New Year!

Hello Friends,

We have been having a good year so far. There is so much to be thankful for!

A few of the things we are thankful for are:

  • We had a lot of Family Retreats, Groups Retreat and Personal Retreats during December and January
  • New mattresses in Good Shepherd
  • The New Year's Retreat
  • The delightful Crafting Retreat
  • Lots of projects and maintenance getting done
  • Our great Staff and Board members
  • God has been speaking to our guests while they are here and working in their lives

We are just so thankful for the opportunity to be on staff at CRC. What a blessing it is to be the part of the body of Christ that gets to serve here. We have guests come from all different denominations, backgrounds and countries yet we can gather here as one, in the unity of the body of Christ.

New Year's Retreat

We had a wonderful New Year's Retreat! Great Devotions by Bryan, Summer and Peter, fun games and a snowman craft! We ended 2023 and entered 2024 with a time of prayer. What a blessing.

Crafting Retreat

We had a wonderful group of ladies brave the ice and snow this last weekend to attend our Crafting Retreat. Becky, Julie and Abigail shared the devotions and God spoke in powerful ways to the ladies. They were blessed and encouraged. Praise God!

Lots of crafts were accomplished; scrapbooking, cross stitching, drawing, painting, crocheting and more. We even had some group games in the evenings! Lots of laughter and encouraging fellowship!

Wintery Weather

Like most people we had about a week of snow and then freezing rain. It was beautiful, crisp, cold and very slippery. Our maintenance guys put a lot of extra work into making the roads and pathways safe for our guests to walk and drive on.

The staff and the staff kiddos enjoyed the ice and snow! Building snowmen, throwing sheets of ice off the Main Lodge deck, taking hikes in the ice, sipping coffee while enjoying the view out the window and sledding. We enjoyed it while it was here but we are also glad to have it melting as it was very slippery!

We are also thankful that the power only went out for a couple of hours and then was back on again!

Prayer Request

We would appreciate your prayers for Julie. During the ice storm she fell and broke her left wrist. She will be having surgery on Wednesday the 24th.

Please join us in praying that:

  • Her pain would decrease
  • The surgery would go well
  • Her wrist will heal quickly and thoroughly

We appreciate your prayers for Julie and her quick recovery! We love her so much and want her all better. Thank you!

New Mattresses!

December brought with it the greatly anticipated new mattresses for Good Shepherd Lodge!

All of the old mattresses were hauled away and the new mattresses and new sheets were put into place. All of our guests are enjoying the comfort of the new mattresses. We are excited to eventually replace all the mattresses in the buildings and Good Shepherd was a great place to start!
