Civilian Exposures and Solidarity Actions
THE US Military is poisoning water in communities around military bases in the US and abroad. Hear all the details from researcher/author Pat Elder. Get updates and announcements from issues and branches. Learn more, engage more, with 2019 SOLIDARITY ACTIONS.
Featured in this week's ONE WILPF Call is
Truthout and
Civilian Exposure author
Pat Elder, a researcher and activist who has been working collaboratively with our Earth Democracy and DISARM Issue Committees on two big contamination issues that underscore the connection between US military and environmental pollution that threatens human health.
View this interview with Pat on TheRealNews.com.
Pat will review his 20 year activism on COUNTER RECRUITMENT in high schools which has been gaining traction through a new campaign against the health threats to kids from using lead ammunition on ROTC high school shooting ranges.
And he'll talk about his new work to identify and target an environmental threat from the military's use of PSAF, a chemical fire-fighting foam being used on US military bases in America and around the world. The foam is extremely effective in quickly extinguishing fires on valuable military planes. But it's also leaking into water sources in low income communities around US military bases. Only 1 part per trillion of this chemical can cause significant human health threats. And activists around the globe are fighting back. Find out how you can make a difference.
