OTTAWA — Those little upticks in cross border travel keep coming, with Statistics Canada data showing the second month in a row of Canada-to-U.S. increases for both car travel and air travel.

The numbers are still a long, long way off 2024 stats – but the small jumps year over year in 2026 vs. 2025 suggest ‘quiet tourism’ from Canada to the U.S. is gaining ground, even with the trade war.

CALGARY — WestJet has ranked first in North America for on-time performance for the fifth consecutive month, according to Cirium’s latest report.

The airline operated approximately 17,390 flights during September, with 85.31% arriving on time and a result nearly three percentage points ahead of the next-highest-ranked carrier.
