UPCOMING CHAMBER EVENTS

Citizen of the Year Dinner for Carol Singer

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce longtime resident and civic leader Carol Singer as the 2026 Citizen of the Year (COY), honoring more than 50 years of dedicated service to the community. A deeply influential volunteer, Carol has played a pivotal role in shaping Lafayette’s parks, trails, and long-term planning, including four decades on the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission and service on every major planning committee guiding the city’s development.

Beyond her leadership in parks and planning, Carol has been a champion of civic engagement through her work with the Lafayette Homeowners Association, Friends of the Lafayette Library, the Age-Friendly Action Plan, and decades of involvement in local campaigns. Known for her thoughtful, research-driven approach and respectful collaboration, Carol’s impact is felt across the city.

The community will celebrate her remarkable legacy at the Citizen of the Year Dinner on March 19 at 6pm at the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa.

Parcel Tax Measure Public Hearing

The Governing Board of the Lafayette School District will hold a public hearing on a proposal for the District to submit a parcel tax measure to the District’s voters at the statewide election to be held on June 2.

The proposal is that the District ask the voters for approval to levy a qualified special tax (parcel tax) on all taxable, non-exempt real property within the District, replacing and increasing the existing Measure L parcel tax, in order to raise funds to support critical educational programs and services in the Lafayette schools. The Board will consider taking final action on the proposal at that meeting.
