Math Contest on February 3rd
AMC 10A/12A math contests will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd at 2:30 pm in Mrs. Sullivan's classroom.  All students are welcome.  In the unlikely event we run short of contest copies, priority will be given to those who previously registered with math club coaches.
Student Study Center

Start off the semester on a good foot by having your student schedule a session in person or here for the subjects they would like to work on. We are open every day of the week during lunch in the North Shared Space and after school in the library.

The Student Study Center is also hosting two more workshops! They are:

  • College and Testing (Grades 9-11): On Friday, February 6th in Ms. Packer's room, students can join seniors Ally and Paige to ask questions about college types, standardized testing, the Common App, and what students should be doing to prepare for life after ICS.
  • The X Factor in Extracurricular Activities (All Grades): On Tuesday, February 10th during lunch in Ms. Packer's room, students can meet with our junior tutors to find out more about what activities to join inside and outside of ICS and what students can do during the summer to continue exploring their personal interests.
Volunteering
Food Lifeline Volunteers Needed for Key Club Service Project
On Thursday, February 12th from 9:30 to 11:30am (the first day of mid-winter break), Key Club is going to volunteer at the Food Lifeline Center in Shoreline, and they need 3 parent chaperones (according to Food Lifeline policies) to supervise the service project.  At the Food Lifeline Center, parents would participate in packaging foods and other products before they are sent to a homeless shelter.  You would need to provide your own transportation.  If interested, e-mail Key Club Advisor Mr. Plank.

Taste of ICS Volunteers Needed
On Saturday, February 7th from 6 to 8:30pm, the Taste of ICS celebrates international diversity and culture, featuring food, art, activities, a talent show, and more. We need volunteers for the following areas:  

  • Supplies and cultural artifacts are needed to be lent or donated. Please look through our supply list here.
  • Sign up to cook through our Taste website here .
  • Volunteers are also needed to help us set up/clean up on the day of the event - to sign up, please see the contact information available on the Taste website. 
  • NEW: Parent volunteers are needed to help with parking on Saturday, February 7th. You need to arrive by 5:00 PM and remain available until traffic tapers off around 6:00 PM. Please contact Kathy Thompson if you are interested in helping.

Principal chat date and time changes
The Principal Chat dates and times have changed - please revise your calendars accordingly.  Each meeting is before the monthly PTSA meeting:

  • 10 Feb: Principal chat from 6-7, PTSA from 7-9 at Redmond Town Center
  • 10 Mar: Principal Chat from 6-7, PTSA from 7-9 in the Lyceum
  • 12 May: Principal Chat from 6-7, PTSA from 7-9 at Redmond Town Center

Intramural Soccer is coming!

This year, ICS Intramural Soccer practices and games will take place between March and May. Games will be on Saturdays and Sundays at ICS and practices will be once a week if desired by players (day/time TBD). There is no fee for this club and we encourage all levels to sign up for a fun time playing soccer. Registration forms will be available in February with a deadline to sign up in early March. 

This is a great volunteer opportunity. A co-chair is needed to assist running the club, as well as refs and other volunteers for each game. If you know your student is interested in playing, or if you are interested in volunteering, please email Laurie Fulton. 

ICS SAT Prep Session 2 (for the 5/2/15)
