CREATIVE ACTS

IN A TROUBLED TIME

We have found ourselves in the wilderness of war in a country divided. The bombs dropping resonate throughout the world, and we feel their echo in our hearts. Let us come together and express what is in our hearts. Perhaps it is anxiety or fear. Perhaps it is rage. Perhaps it is despair. Or perhaps the soft light of compassion still glows.

We believe that in expression we can find connection, and in togetherness we can find strength. This evening will include a few planned creative acts, but we also welcome contributions from anyone who feels moved to share a song, poem, story, or other creative expression.

SWWAP WILL BE PART OF A

NATIONWIDE DAY OF ACTION ON MARCH 28

PLAN TO BE THERE!

On Saturday, March 28, we stand at a critical juncture in history, called to unite in unprecedented numbers to deliver a resounding message: NOT IN OUR NAME! As proud citizens of the United States, we categorically reject the brutality perpetuated under Trump's regime, both at home and abroad.

We invite you to join us from 1-3 PM at the Mount Horeb Liberty Park Shelter, located at 1201 Cox Dr, for a peaceful yet powerful assembly that embodies our collective strength and determination. This gathering will not only feature uplifting music and inspiring speakers, but it will also culminate in a sign brigade on the well-traveled Springdale Street, showcasing our commitment to change. Communities from across the region are rallying together for this historic event, and we will keep you informed through our upcoming newsletter, sharing various opportunities for engagement on March 28.

Together, we will cast off the chains of oppression and forge a path towards a brighter, more inclusive future. Your presence is vital—let's make history together!

Be sure to watch the accompanying video and find a moment to sing along, as we harmonize our hopes for a better tomorrow.

NEWS

One down, three to go.

A most important election year!

The Trolls will be getting out the Democratic vote in Mt. Horeb in March and April.

Please help us!

ProTip: You know those annoying (but necessary) calls and texts you get from Democratic volunteers to sign you up for a canvass shift at elections? You can get off the list, and save everyone time and effort, by signing up now at Mobilize (links below.) You can always cancel or reschedule if your plans change. But please, sign up.

For canvassing we'll have weekend shifts, and we're happy to work with you to canvass at a different time that works for you, (Contact Jennifer)

IT'S A SIGN!

This Spring election runs the danger of low voter turnout. Fewer voters know much about the candidates for Wisconsin Supreme Court, and unlike a year ago, Elon Musk isn't interfering and bringing attention to the election. (Thank goodness for that change!) This all means that yard signs can be more important than usual. So get your Chris Taylor yard sign to help get out progressive voters. Starting Thursday afternoon, the yard signs will be available behind our new Progressive Office (more to come on that after the election) at 304 East Main Street in Mt. Horeb. Go to the back of this yellow house between the Chamber and Open House Imports to find signs between the house and shed. (You can park briefly behind the house off the alley.) Please share with your friends with good visibility placement oppotunties.

Did you miss the Power of Talking Together, which was presented at the Mount Horeb Public Library? It was a powerful presentation with useful information on how to better communicate and how to better listen. Thanks to all the amazing library staff who made this happen!

What does Trump's restrictive voting bill include - and does it have a chance of becoming law?

TELL YOUR US SENATORS 📣 DISPOSE OF THE SAVE ACT.

Every voter would be affected by the Save America act, as people would face more barriers to voting: 'It's a recipe for disaster'

We end this St. Patrick's Day newsletter with Mt. Horeb's Katy McGrath Morkri, singing We Honor The Children, a song written by Ken Lonnquist. Mark your calendars, Ken will be performing in the historic District #1 Schoolhouse on Saturday, April 25, (More information on this event in the next newsletter).
