Honoring Ancestors

From our family to yours wishing you good health, happiness, peace, prosperity, and success in all your endeavors on this important Khmer Holiday where Cambodian families gather and offer rice balls and other foods to honor up to seven generations of deceased ancestors. People believe the gates of the spirit world open so they make offerings of food (Bay Ben) to monks and wandering souls to help improve their ancestors' karma.

Our CCDO staff “family” traditionally go to the temple together to honor their ancestors.

Summer School

This year our Summer School classes were exceptionally fun and joyful due to the addition of heaps of used Legos donated by Itsuko Takeuchi family and the Mustang Club of San Diego, California.

The children quickly got the hang of building with Lego blocks and transformed them into amazing shapes and objects.

Water wells from Remote Lands Travelers

We are honored that Remote Lands, an upscale travel company and their local tour operator, Golden Asia Vacation, have selected CCDO to provide water wells for rural Cambodians, donated by their caring travelers. The first of 8 wells built were recently visited by the donors.

Mrs Laurence Schoen and Mr David Whitcomb (Colorado, USA) visited their well and interacted with the recipient family. It was a moving and memorable experience.

Staff News

CCDO Operations Manager, Nue Gnab, had a lovely surprise when he and his wife discovered they would have a third child. They already have two teenagers.

Baby Phich Pornareay Nue arrived on September 28, 2026, at 6:10 PM, weighing a healthy 3.7 kg. Both mom and baby are safe, healthy, and doing great. Nue is discovering the joys of no sleep and constant feeding again. Both parents and teen siblings are thrilled with the new addition.

Donors

A huge thanks to our longtime supporters Pete and Mary Jo Farrell who gave $2,500 for our general program. Starr Moore, our frequent donor and visitor showed her care and passion for feeding the children a nutritious breakfast by generously donating $10,000.
