WOW! RBC has done it again… twice in one month!
On March 4, RBC staff rolled up their sleeves to serve lunch at our Diner’s Club in Lindsay and their generosity resulted in a $1,500 donation.
Then on March 16, they were back at it, helping package Good Food Boxes and inspiring another $1,500 gift.
Their ongoing commitment and hands-on support continue to make a powerful impact in our community.

Pat and Andrew Staneland continue to make a meaningful impact through their generosity and community spirit. Each year, they give through a family trust established in honour of Andrew’s father’s wishes, directing the interest earned to charities close to their hearts with support from Gift Funds Canada.
In addition to their annual gift, Pat is an active volunteer with SAGEs in Burnt River, dedicating her time and energy to supporting others. We are incredibly grateful for Pat and Andrew’s ongoing commitment to strengthening care and services in our community.

Why I Give - A Story of Generosity
| | |
Community Care often receives messages from clients and their families sharing how our programs have helped them during difficult times. These stories remind us just how important accessible services can be for caregivers and the people they support. The following message was shared by Laura, who discovered our transportation services while caring for her husband. Her experience highlights how something as simple as a ride can make a meaningful difference.
“I was ecstatic when I learned about community care and your drivers. I am a caregiver to my husband and I have needed eye surgery twice in the past two years. I have no one to drive me and thought I couldn’t have the surgeries. Trying to take care of myself sometimes feels overwhelming so it was such a relief to find this service. Since then I have recommended your group to others who need help and aren’t aware of Community Care”. - Laura

| | Community Connections and Recent Highlights | | Charitable Giving Seminar with Mabee and Associate - IG Private Wealth Management | | |
Members of the Community Care Foundation team recently attended a Charitable Giving Seminar hosted to learn more about tax-efficient ways individuals can support the causes they care about. The session featured keynote speakers Jennifer, Chris, and Jaxon, who shared valuable insights on legacy giving, family philanthropy, and planning charitable gifts.
We are grateful for the continued support of the Mabee family and IG Wealth Management, who are strong supporters and sponsors of Community Care. Opportunities like this help us better understand charitable giving and strengthen the partnerships that make our work possible.
| | Handbags for Health Online Auction | | |
Our online auction was a wonderful success! Thanks to the generosity of our bidders and supporters, we raised $1,000 in support of local health services. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, placed bids, and helped spread the word.
This fundraiser was made even more special thanks to the incredible items generously donated by our community partners, including a luxurious spa package from Flourish Medi Spa & Salon and two amazing bags from Brittney’N Bros. These thoughtful contributions helped generate excitement and made the auction a success.
Every bid placed contributed to enhancing care close to home, and we truly appreciate the continued support of those who help make initiatives like this possible.
| | Community Care host Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce "Cocktails and Connections" event | | |
On the last Monday of each month, the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce hosts a networking gathering designed to bring local members together, spark new connections, and strengthen relationships within our business community. These events are a wonderful opportunity to share ideas, collaborate, and learn more about the incredible work happening across our region.
In March, we had the privilege of welcoming fellow Chamber members to our Community Health Centre. It was a pleasure to open our doors, showcase the services we provide, and connect with so many passionate and engaged local professionals.
We are grateful to the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce for their continued support in creating opportunities like this, and to everyone who joined us. Events like these remind us of the strength of our community and the value of working together to make a difference.

A Smart Giving Strategy:
By donating securities in kind to Community Care Foundation, you can avoid paying capital gains tax and receive a tax receipt for the market value gifted. To qualify as "in kind", securities must be transferred directly from your investment account to our investment account. If you sell your shares for cash, you pay tax on the gain (even if you plan to donate the proceeds for the sale). That means there is less money to donate AND you have a smaller donation to claim for your charitable tax credit at the end of the year.
The process is seamless - you call us, we send you a 1 page form, you fill it out and submit to our investment firm! You maximize your donaton and save taxes - a real win-win!
Fun Ways To Support Us:
Why not host a fundraiser this summer? We have a tool kit to help you and it’s a fun way to connect with your staff, neighbours, club, church, friends or family. Fundraisers do not have to be large and complex to organize.
Here are some ideas:
- Host a BBQ or Dinner Party
- Offer to wash cars
- Hold a Bowling or Euchre Tournament
- Sell flowers, plants or baked goods
- Organize a bingo night
