We've officially added 2024 to our roster of Modern Healthcare Best Places to Work in Health Care wins, a title we've held since 2021!

This award recognizes employers that empower their employees to provide communities with the best possible care, products, and/or services across the country. We're privileged to have a fabulous team that's dedicated to improving health and empowering the underserved in New York!

Though we've been improving health and empowering the underserved in the North Country for years, we planted roots at a new office location in Glens Falls! So — in addition to our downtown locations in Syracuse at The Tech Garden and Schenectady at Urban Co-Works — you can now catch us at WorkSmart Coworking in downtown Glens Falls if you're in the area.

New Heights LCSW PLLC provides psychotherapy services to children and families 10 years and younger. With nearly a decade of experience working with those with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma, New Heights LCSW PLLC is a licensed clinical social worker, Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and an EMDR Certified Therapist.

The practice focuses on an interpersonal neurobiology approach — what's going on within the nervous system and its impact on symptoms — while using community member-centered treatment techniques like play therapy, EMDR, and creative arts. Parents experiencing problems related to connection and attachment can also participate in Circle of Security groups.

As of April 1, 2024, more New Yorkers are now eligible for low-cost health insurance through the Essential Plan!

The Essential Plan has $0 monthly premiums, no deductible, and low cost-sharing. It covers comprehensive benefits including office visits, hospital care, screenings, prescription medicine, dental and vision benefits, and more. New Yorkers can enroll in the Essential Plan at any time during the year through NY State of Health.

There are three ways to apply for the Essential Plan:

• Visit nystateofhealth.ny.gov;

• Get free personalized help from an enrollment assistor; or

• Call the NY State of Health Customer Service Center at 1-855-355-5777 (TTY: 1-800-662-1220). 

The New York State Food Summit is a biennial event designed to bring together food assistance providers, academics, advocates, and communities across New York. The all-day symposium-style event aims to educate and share best practices, research, and innovations in hunger relief efforts.
