Official news about the City of Cedar Park from the City of Cedar Park

Thank You, Assistant Chief of Police, Bryan Wukasch

Assistant Police Chief Bryan Wukasch was recognized during last night’s City Council meeting in honor of his retirement and dedicated service to the City of Cedar Park. Wukasch joined the Cedar Park Police Department in August 1999 and has served in leadership roles across the Patrol, Professional Standards and Criminal Investigations divisions. As Assistant Chief, he has overseen the department’s daily operations. Throughout his career, Wukasch has continued to advance his law enforcement leadership through specialized training and education, including graduation from the FBI National Academy and the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas Leadership Command College.

The City and City Council Members thank Assistant Chief Wukasch for more than 27 years of service and his contributions to the Cedar Park community and wishes him the best in retirement!

Public Comment and Community Feedback

As a follow-up to the public meeting held on October 13, 2026, the City of Cedar Park has opened a 30-day comment period for Cedar Park residents to provide their comments regarding the use of Flock Automated License Plate Readers (Flock ALPRs) as a public safety tool.

Flock Automated License Plate Readers are camera systems that capture license plate information from passing vehicles on public roadways. Law enforcement agencies may use this technology to assist with criminal investigations, locate missing persons, identify stolen vehicles, and support other public safety operations.

The City recognizes the importance of balancing public safety needs with individual privacy, transparency, and responsible technology use. Community input is an important part of this conversation and will help inform discussions surrounding the use of Flock ALPR technology in Cedar Park.
