Last week’s question was ‘do you believe that the Minnesota House will convene prior to the House District 40B special election in early March?'
Results showed that only 22% of respondents thought the MN House would convene before the Special Election on March 11. We are glad to report that an agreement has been reached and our House is now in Session, working for the constituents of Minnesota.
| |
The Minnesota House of Representatives is in Session
As noted above, the Minnesota House is back in session after leaders reached a leadership agreement outlining how the House will operate going forward. The agreement included naming Representative Lisa Demuth (R-Cold Spring) House speaker and seating Representative Brad Tabke (DFL-Shakopee).
Anniversary of Burnsville Tragedy
|
Our hearts are heavy as we remember the February 18, 2024 tragedy in Burnsville. It is a date we won't forget due to the tragic loss of Police Officers Matthew Ruge, Paul Elmstrand and Firefighter-Paramedic Adam Finseth. On this day, and for months afterwards, every DCR Region public safety team stepped up to give relief and support to our Burnsville City neighbors. Our Region shined its brightest during this dark time.

Plans for Eagan's Former Blue Cross Blue Shield Headquarters
Inland Development Partners plans to acquire the former Blue Cross and Blue Shield headquarters building in Eagan to construct a new facility for Buddy's Kitchen Inc., a frozen food manufacturer focusing in food service. The 282,000-square-foot production and office facility would be built at 3535 Blue Cross Road, replacing the vacant former Blue Cross Blue Shield headquarters building, which is slated for demolition to make way for the project. Lakeville and Burnsville operations would be consolidated into one Eagan location when the facility opens in 2027. Future construction plans for the property may include townhomes and multifamily projects. The project will be reviewed by the Eagan City Council and Planning Commission soon.
