October 8, 2026

Dear Columbus Academy Families,

To celebrate the beginning of our school’s annual Alumni Weekend, tomorrow (Friday, October 9) will be a spiritwear dress down for all students and adults on campus.

Students can wear Academy spiritwear (t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, Viking team jerseys/shirts) or something maroon and/or gray on top with jeans, casual pants or dress code shorts/skirts on bottom.

Not allowed: athletic shorts, mini athletic skirts, sweatpants, pajama pants, flannel pants, tights or yoga pants.

Also, this is not “wear your favorite college/pro sports jersey” as we sometimes see with Spirit Days – only Columbus Academy insignia or gray/maroon.

We encourage you to attend tomorrow night’s varsity home football game, where the following recognitions will take place:

• 6:30 Coin Toss with Class of 1976 Celebrating their 50th Reunion
• 6:40 Senior Night Ceremony for Boys & Girls Golf Programs
• 7:00 Kickoff against Buckeye Valley

Then, at halftime, the following activities are scheduled:

• Academy Pep Band Performance
• Buckeye Valley Marching Band Performance
• Athletic Hall of Fame Recognition for Zach Doran ’00 & Bryan Morosky ’04
• Tribute to John Wuorinen ’80 for his 42 Years of Service
• Acknowledgment of Jack Butler’s 30 Years as PA Announcer

Also, you may notice a large tailgate in the grass quad behind Academy Hall tomorrow night. This particular event is for Academy alumni (and their families) who have returned to campus.

Alumni Weekend events open to everyone are in the dining hall Saturday at 10:30 a.m. (special program honoring John Wuorinen ’80) and at noon (Athletic Hall of Fame Induction of Zach Doran ’00 & Bryan Morosky ’04). Please register for those ceremonies by clicking here.

Go Vikes!
